Truth is we really need all 8 of these points to have any longshot chance at the playoffs. Boston has 8 games left against Buffalo and NJ. We only have 6. And they are already 4 points ahead of us with 2 games in hand. We need all 8 of these points, and hope the Isles and Caps beat Boston the next 3 games after tonight (at least hope Boston only gets 2 of 6 points).

By rule you cannot call a timeout after an icing. That's why the Devs didn't call a timeout until after the next stoppage, they didn't want to give the Rangers a chance to rest.
