Once again - cursing, vulgar, put you on ignore, lies (by far most of the fanbase does not think this coach stinks - only the irrational ones and their grand leader). This guy is absolutely killing this board.

What you claim he said is not what he actually said is the point.
Let's not lose sight of the fact that 3 of the 5 games Knoblach that was behind the bench were against the Sabres and a team who seems to be aspiring to be the Sabres.
Good effort, but unfortunately mel, god love him, has gone into the abyss following his grand leader.

mel - Zib said they coach differently. What a knock on Quinn.
grey - That is not what he said, he said they coach the same but have different personalities.
mel - Do you watch the games, they do not coach the same.
grey - That is not the point, you said Zib said something he did not.

That's the transcript of your back and forth. It is comical. Here is the bottom line, the narrative is written to the grand leader and his followers. The facts don't matter. Bad, loss, player struggles it's on Quinn, it's still Quinn's team. Good, win, player does well, it's praise Knoblauch, and he is running the show now and the players know it. Even when they do the same thing and play kids less, doesn't matter, it's a ripping for Quinn and a praising for Knoblauch.

This is where we are on a board ruined by one guy, their grand leader. Everything is about the coach, it kills real hockey talk, it's cursing and vulgar posts, and it's manipulating facts to meet the pre-determined narrative. Sad.

Yeah I will say, the Ignore feature is pretty nice.
Remember when he said Buchnevich was one of the 10 dumbest players in the NHL? That was a good one. Meanwhile, in reality the kid has shown tremendous improvement this season.
Strome has also been playing much better the last 4 weeks or so.

I still like mrmel. He's had a rough go of things the last couple years though (outside of the message board) if I remember correctly. Always considered him pretty reasonable so when he seemed to be going off the deep end I thought it was strange.
Saturdays game is going to look a lot different in my opinion. Not because Quinn is behind the bench but for as poorly as the Flyers have played the last two weeks. And to lose the last two games against the same team by a 14 goal margin...coming back to face the same team in a back-to-back situation they are going be as defensively focused as an AV coached team can be.

Agree 100% on mel - I am a fan and supporter regardless of the coach craziness...:).

Saturday will be an interesting one. Essentially if the Flyers have any ba**s they will show up big. We'll see.

And I think Quinn will miss at least Saturday from what I was reading. Maybe back Sunday or Tuesday.

Floundering Philly had 44 shots on goal, luckily Shesty came back with his A game but the Rangers didn't play well tonight, bailed out by inept Flyer defense. Every time the camera shows Knoblauch he's alone and quiet especially when one of his players has his hair pulled and face ground into the ice - that should be a multiple game suspension, amazing that NY didn't intervene and give a 5 minute major. I'm sure the followers were hoping Lemieux got injured. Funny how it's ok now for Laf, Kakko and Gauthier to be played under 14 minutes, why that was a fireable offense not to long ago. If you want to see a coach on the way out look no further than AV.

I largely liked our game yesterday. Definitely gave up too many shots, but it is the nature of an AV team to pump lots of shots on net while giving up never ending grade-A chances coming the other way. They dont have the goaltending to play like that. AV is supremely lucky he had 2 of the best goaltenders of all time most of his career and he still ground them into dust. He is certainly on the hot seat there and rightly so.

Typical gutless Flyer BS at the end, I hope Lemieux is given a long leash to chase down that guy tomorrow.

If we're going to keep this up down the stretch one person we're going to need more out of K'Andre. Him and Trouba need to be relied on to eat tough minutes as we cannot play Adam Fox 25 min plus every night. Fox got off easy in the TOI category last night with the big lead. He's been incredible this year but is going to be a target for dickheads like Tom Wilson. KAndre has been very good but seems to be approaching that rookie wall lately. Luckily it seems like he is composed enough to power through and not let mistakes snowball. Would be good if Trouba played to his contract and bailed him out a bit to get him going. But in general hard not to be happy with these 6 on defense, even Hajek lately who I was down on to start the season. Him and Smith are a decent third pair for right now.

Quinn to work remote the rest of the season!

If Knobloch wants it, he should be made a full time assistant coach the second Quinn comes back. There's no reason we should make that guy go back to Hartford to ride the AHL buses.

Prod, I’m not doing that if I’m knoblach. If the rangers do t want him as coach now I go back to ahl instead of serving as asst coach under Quinn and after season will either be the rangers coach or will be grabbed by another team as their coach maybe even philly

That's fine, he may not and he's free to turn it down if he wants to. But it would be dumb on our part, I think, to not try to figure out a way to integrate him into this staff at the NHL level as the team is clearly playing well under him. Mika mentioned their different personalities, he could be a good cop contrast to David Quinn's sometimes hardass persona. All coaching staffs need those contrasts. My defensive coordinator in college got off on being an outrageous dickhead, but it worked because our head coach took care of us (he was a hardass with the offense instead). Knoblauch might want to stay at the NHL level and build more name recognition.

Quinn is not being fired mid-season, so that's a non-starter. So for the rest of this year, I think it's something JD, JG and CD should explore and then leave it in Knoblauch's court.

Quinn is not being fired after the season either. He will be the coach next season unless the team collapses down the stretch. You can take that to the bank.

As for Knoblauch, it really comes down to head coaching experience in the AHL or assistant coach in the NHL, which is the better path (if he has a choice). You could argue both, and coaches come from both places, but considering he has been a head coach for a while in his career, 1 year or so in the AHL with the stops and starts, you could argue being on Quinn's staff in the NHL is the better path right now.

I will also add this, and I don't want to start a debate just pointing it out, 3 of the 4 wins under Knoblauch have been against maybe the 2 worst teams in the NHL currently (the Sabres are definitely the worst - Flyers may be the 2nd worst team currently). That doesn't mean the team is not playing well and rolling in those wins, we are, but that is the case. We have to at least be somewhat mindful of that.

Overall though I would have zero issue keeping Knoblauch up to support Quinn, that's what good organizations do, and coaches that are confident in their abilities and comfortable in their own skin welcome it.

I think I remember hearing that Knobloch was an assistant with the Flyers not long ago. I forget who the head coach was at the time, maybe Laviolette?

He was definitely with the Flyers but thought it was more recent than Laviolette. I went back to check his Wikipedia to get the dates and looks like he served under Hakstol for 2 years in that dumpster fire of a regime from 17-19. Not sure if he stuck around after Hakstol got fired midseason. Not exactly a stellar line on his resume.

Whether he'd take the job or not is pure speculation. But in my opinion it would be a good fit for our staff as it is currently constructed, while also better serving his own career getting more NHL time. He's already proved himself as a successful juniors head coach. If the team continues to play like this after he took over and then stuck around, that's a hell of a resume builder - even in potential interviews with JG and JD at some point....

Don't be so sure Prod. If the vets on the team say get rid of Quinn and keep Knoblauch, he's fucked and will be fired in days. I think it's headed that way. If people don't think that 9-0 game was a message to management and ownership as to how they dislike this coach, they have their head up their ass. Zibanejad's words were very telling. He might as well have just come out and said get rid of this assclown.

Grevy, you sound like a lawyer!

I never had the discipline to make it through 3 years of law school.

How about making Knoblauch a head coach now and kick Quinn out the door? Yeah, I know it won't happen. He has paid his dues already and coached successfully at different levels. He is exactly the guy they need.

Gotta love this argument from certain posters. They beat up on the two of the worst teams under Knoblauch. Well, when they played those teams under Quinn, they did not beat up on those teams.

Quinn sucks ass. Zibanejad will lead the way to get this asswipe fired. I’ve wanted Knoblauch from day one this year.

Your maudlin tempest in a teapot reactions never get old dumbpy but this constant sexually charged innuendo you insert into each of your posts leads me to believe that you were used like a golf ball washer as a lad.

Have you wanted Knoblauch from the moment you started an Official Fire Quinn thread 4 months into his tenure?

I wish we could actually focus on the exciting young team with a bright young future instead of post after post whining about the coach. Maybe if we did that, and your grand leader stopped his cursing and vulgar comments, we'd have more than 8 posters on the board. I know you guys love your echo chamber, but come on now.

I suspect we might see Quinn removed after the tradeline unless the team continues to play for him like they are doing for Knoblauch. I don't see that happening. Generally when you go to multiple sites and you see the majority of the fan base turning against a coach, it's not long until he's getting fired.

At this point its pretty clear that only 3 or 4 (including IWanttoSpeaktoYourManager) regular contributors here feel like Quinn should be fired. The rest don't.
By nature of the position, he will be fired at some point. When the GM and President of the Rangers feel like he is not meeting expectations he will be fired.
At this point in the season, I don't see how the Rangers are doing any worse than expected. In this division they are not a top 4 team so finishing in 5th or somehow better would be seen as a success is my guess. We have seen improvement in several young players at both ends of the ice. However, others are not at the level many expected, in particular Kakko. Well, the good news is he just turned 20 (20!!!) and LaF just 19 so their development and growth is far from over.

Of course Grey. Their grand leader lives in his own fantasy world. I know some of the sites he claims are turning against the coach, and it's the exact opposite. They also don't allow him to take over the boards as he has here. They pound on him all the time, and he is a lone voice in the woods. He doesn't have his followers like he does on this board. So the other boards are not destroyed, as this one is where all he does in post after post is curse, make vulgar comments, whine about the coach, and kill any real hockey talk. Shame.

OK then, so we can expect another 5+ goal victory over the Flyers today if Knoblach is coaching again? Am all for it, but I don't expect that to be case.
It's a pretty small sample size for Knoblach. He is 4-1 which is fantastic for any coach over a 5 game span. But if you don't think Quinn is capable of doing the same thing against teams of similar quality you don't have to go back very far to realize you are wrong.

Participating on one Rangers message board is enough for me, I couldn't be bothered to seek out any others. I was on ESPN back in the day and came here when they discontinued the service. This is plenty.

Knoblauch has been successful primarily because of the Breadman's return and Mika finally waking the eff up. Thursday night Laf and Kakko had 0 points, zero SOG and Gauthier had 2 SOG but was -1. If you want to advance the theory that Knoblauch is like Glenn Close in the Natural so be it. The mistake dumpy Darren and the fire Quinn Karens make is thinking it's going to bother me or others if Quinn gets fired, I don't believe he's done anything remotely close to deserve it and I haven't read anything from players released/traded by the Rangers knocking Quinn but rooting for negative things to happen can be fun for some.

Mike certainly loves playing the Flyers. The point on Quinn has been made regardless of what camp you're in. The constant beating of that dead horse is just trolling to garner a reaction.

It can't be said enough. He sucks as a coach. It's obvious to all but a few here.

First critique of Knoblauch Stop putting Blackwell out. He fucking sucks Gorton needs to trade the shit head right away
