So we traded Etem to make room for a stiff like Megna...Nice move Gorton. This guy Gorton has been a complete failure as GM here so far.

Add a scoring forward and we'll be fine. As I have said ALL SEASON LONG it is the O not the D. Big picture, when push comes to shove, when games get bigger IT IS ABOUT THE O NOT THE D.

We might need more than 1 chuck

I hear you 94, but it isn't that easy...and not just because he has a NTC. I would be happy, but very surprised if Staal is traded.

Rangers CORE has problems................ya think?
I have to laugh when AV puts Glass, Megna, and Moore
out there in dying minutes. Too ludicrous.

If you were told before the year that Kreider would have 6 goals after 42 games and wasn't hurt for a good chunk of them you would've been sick.

Can't argue with that at all. You can add dumbfounded, pissed and would have laughed at that prediction. He was engaged tonight but as you pointed out as he's been all season just can't put the goddam puck in the ocean much less a net.

It was oh the D the D the D. I said it was the O all along, and at some point that will be clear. Now it is oh we need more than 1 scorer.

I just don't think it has changed. We need another proven scorer. If we get that player I think it slots people in better. And I simply cannot believe Kreider and Hayes will suck all year long. If we add another forward they each slide down a little and put let pressure on those two.

Let's start by adding a badly needed scoring forward and go from there. Tired of seeing crap like Moore, Stalberg, Megna, Glass and so on play meaningful roles.

Basically they need Buchnevich over and a deal for a Ladd or Byfuglien.

I've said plenty of times I'm done with him. He is what he is. People were just enthralled what that ridiculous playoff stud label.

Kreider is simply a low IQ player who cannot shoot accurately. That's who he is. Misses the net all the time. Is not a smart player. Has ALL the physical tools...lacks the mental tools.

Missing that empty net in the 1st period was laughable. Not much else to say about that.

Why is Rick Nash the promotional face of the Rangers? LOL
This in itself is a joke......on every Rangers fan!

Nash was a complete beast last year up until he got his bell rung late in the season. Wasn't the same after that and here we are with him. He's most often playing it safe to avoid any potential big hit. He should be using his size and taking it to the net all game long. It simply doesn't happen.

Too young, size, strength, speed and talent to give up on him yet. He had 21 goals last year so the kid can score. Just for whatever reason hasn't done so this season yet. Theres still time to get untracked.

When's the last time Stepan scored or had a real impactful game?

Hayes also made a great pass to set up Staal's goal, terrible play to start the 3rd for sure but Yandle had the puck on his stick and opted to throw it back to Hayes instead of moving it to the boards. Go ahead goal once again Klein abandons the front of the net to allow the wide open shot, Stepan failed to help too. McDonough has been playing good hockey lately, good to see. Girardi needs to get fully healed before he comes back, McIlrath is a more than capable backup.

The top lines create plenty of opportunities that too often fail to put a shot on goal due to overpassing or inaccurate shooting. JT, CK and Lindberg are the top 3 hitters on the team. They should all be good resign values so I wouldn't be looking to move them. As bad as Glass is offensively at least he hits, I'm not sure what Stalberg is doing out there most of the time. Looks like AV is giving Lindberg the same treatment he gave Miller. I don't get it, no way Megna should be playing over Oscar.

Peaks and valleys, 39 games left. No need to man the lifeboats yet.

Amazing how often this sorry ass team makes average goalies like Halak look special. McIlrath took a dumb penalty if you look at the result but I'll take that penalty almost every time because nobody else on this defense protects Hank. Like I've said all along. They need major changes. Hayes doesn't fit AV's system. He moves and thinks too slow. Kreider on the other hand is just dumb. He can't finish. Both of those assclowns could go in the right deal and nobody will loose sleep over it.

You don't want to overreact to one game, and there is a TON of hockey left, but that was a real bad loss last night. A potentially damaging loss I think. With games at Philly and at Wash coming up, one of which Raanta will start, this could be a bad trip and last night could be a very bad loss.

I was never really worried about the D because we have proven pedigree back there. We have good depth back there with a guy like McIlrath. AND we have Hank back there, indirectly he is part of the D. I have ZERO faith in this O, and haven't had faith for a real long time. The D will have games where they look bad, could happen at Philly or at Wash, but overall big picture I think they will be fine and do what they usually do in big spots (Hank included in that).

As games get bigger and tighter and closer to the vest I simply have zero faith we score more than 1 or 2 goals. We put way too much crap out there upfront for me to feel good about it. Kreider and Hayes have been awful all season. Nash is Nash. And I have seen the O disappear too much in big spots the past few seasons to think it will be different this season.

The only comment I will make is if we don't add a proven scorer we will go nowhere, and we need that guy sooner rather than later. Add a proven scorer AND get Buch here for some depth in Feb and I believe we have as good a shot as any team once the tournament starts, but without it I have no faith we can score enough as is, and that's even with Kreider and Hayes getting better, which has to happen I think.

Kind of the way I have felt most of the season. No change there.

Nash is great at carry the puck up ice. However, when he is in dumbass mode he's useless offensively. Benching Lindberg is just f'n stupid. Playing Glass is beyond f'n stupid. Talking to some Rangers fans this week. The coach is starting to lose credibility with the fan base. One prospect worth watching is Iverson at 6'1, 220 lbs. He's one of those guys who probably will have 50 points in junior, 40 points in the AHL and 30-35 points at the NHL. Kid is a freight train and skates like the wind. He's asked to play a defensive role on his team. Those are the types of players we need more of on the 3rd and 4th line. Tough players that can chip in once in a while on offense. The first and second lines should be scoring. No surprise with the assclowns on those lines they don't finish. The following list of players could all go and I wouldn't be upset

Nash
Kreider
Hayes
Yandle
Staal
Girardi
Glass
Boyle

As usual, problem with most is not the salary. It's the dumbass NMC and NTC's.

I think right now the most likely move is Yandle for a forward who can score some goals. It makes too much sense.

Not saying that is what I would do, I would try like hell to deal Staal to resign Yandle, but I think that is the move that happens OR Yandle for picks/prospects that can be flipped for a scoring forward, which is indirectly Yandle for a scoring forward.

I see that as the move we'll make.

And BTW...the special teams have been awful. Our PK is real bad these days and the PP is 0-18 the past handful of games, and hasn't come through in big spots. Special teams have really hurt us. They need to improve.

I wouldn't disagree with adding Stepan to this list. Our 6.5m dollar man is playing the worst and most uninspiring hockey of his career and is a big reason why this team cannot score a damn goal

Issue is we cannot trade everyone. And at some point if we say deal Hayes or deal Stepan or deal Kreider we are also subtracting some potential O, so adding O sort of isn't as much of a gain as we would like.

To me the focus should be adding O without subtracting O. I would deal a Hayes especially for an O upgrade given how disinterested he has seemed at times, but trading Kreider and trading Stepan sort of defeats the purpose IMO.

If you're looking to trade that many people then it's a rebuild and you better be ready to handle the bad years that come with that. You can't compile a list of ten or more people and realistically think they're all getting moved.

It's starting to get late for the potential of Kreider. He's 24. He's now been in the league 3 years. This wasn't a kid brought into the NHL at 18 or 19. He's freakin dumb. He's too stubborn to change also. The simplest way to put it is as follows. This team is not a contender. I don't like the way this team is built. They aren't tough. They aren't physical. There aren't enough finishers. There isn't a identity. There are too many overpaid, fat, cats on this team.

I see far too many similar players on this roster. There's not a single tough forward to be had. They should've moved a defenseman early on for scoring help and I said after last season that they should sell high on Klein and see what you could get. They stood pat and Klein is looking worse and worse out there. Doesn't take the body and looks lost.

I've said forever. Go get a forward like King on the Kings. They can get him. They don't get him because they have turned into an incompetent team with trades. Sather went from fleecing people to giving up way too much and tons of picks. Gorton has proven to be an imbecile at the job. Basically, it looks like we are screwed now.

How many of you remember a D man by the name of
Rosival? Many fans on this board wanted this guy off
the Rangers.............we got our wish.
Rosival lands on Blackhawks' roster and low and behold
he winds up with 3 Stanley Cup rings.
Yeah, he really sucked!
But, with the right coach,
and the right players, a player can reach the top of the
mountain.

Meanwhile, many fans are trading the whole f'king team
for anything that endears the imagination.

It is a crapshoot and anything can happen.

Rosival did jack shit on the Hawks. Please. They won 3 cups because of Kane, Toews, Seabrook and Keith. That's it. The rest of the role players on the team were along for the ride. Without those 4, they win shit.
