With the Isles and Caps easily winning tonight & the Pens again getting Pt or Pts
at Montreal, Rangers have a tough task at Sharks tonight. Not an easy task.

Pitt just does not lose in Montreal......would like their mojo
when Rangers play up there.

Simply amazing, Isles, Pens, Caps all win AGAIN.

Right now I think the Met is the hottest divison. Those top teams don't lose often.

Now that the BJ's have fallen off, dug too deep a hole at the start, I think we are down to 4 teams for 3 locked in Met playoff spots. Going to be a great finish.

As for tonight, I kind of feel how I felt going into the Stars game, I think this will be a tough one to win. We are due for an L on this trip. Thornton is back. Tough place to play. Going to be a tough game tonight. We'll see if we can cap the Cali trip off with a win. Win or lose tonight it has been a great trip though.

Kreider....very impressive 1st period tonight. 1G 1A

The offense has not been this good in like 20 years.

Face Offs a BIG concern in this game and future games. SJ 25 NYR 10

If they can win the 3rd period......it will be a Cali sweep. I can't remember when
they swept Cali teams.

As soon as it goes for a review in Toronto, I know the rangers are not getting a call.

Kudos to a nice win and a great road trip. Lots of mettle on this team. Didn't let the BS no-goal phase them. Not intimidated by the west teams at all. They just keep playing their game. I can't wait for Tuesday.

1st time in their history to sweep Cali teams. Isles waiting for
Rangers come Tuesday nite. Rangers come home to face 1st place
Isles...........and then it's on the road: Thu at Boston, Fri at Columbus,
Sun at Pittsburgh.

Tonite Lundqvist was very sharp. Hit the accelerator Rangers.

Get excited everybody. It could be a great ride.

One thing Rangers have over other teams is what they did last year. These other teams are slow. Especially their defenseman. Rangers were beating the slow ass Sharks to pucks all third period. Especially Zucc. Faceoff's will hurt this team in the playoffs at some point. They are quite dreadful. However, getting 6 out of 6 points on that trip is absurd. I was hoping for 3. So much for Columbus coming on. That train is back off the tracks again.

The difference between you and I Chuck is that you look at this team when it's hot and ignore all the flaws. I look at this team and see a team that wasn't even competitive in 3 games against the Lightning. Matchup wise this is the same team that would play that team again. I don't see them matching up. You have St. Louis who is 39 years old and looked half dead in the finals last year. You have Boyle who is 38, small and is going to be target practice once the bigger NHL forwards decided to hit like they do when the playoffs start. You are talking an 82 game season, possibly 4 playoff series. Those two players are counted on for significant roles. If you think those guys are going to just skate circles around the better teams in the playoffs after 82 games and when teams start to hit, you're wasted.

Basically, you always take the opposite side Chuck to argue. A lot of posters on chat boards do what you do. I used to be super positive about our prospects, got tons of posters like you telling me they sucked, they weren't that good, they aren't ready, they should have drafted this guy. Then when most made the NHL, all I heard was crickets. I was positive on Sather that he turned it around. All I heard from posters like you was he sucked, he's a moron, we haven't won a cup, he should have been fired years ago.

So then when I actually criticized the coaches and team trying to be objective. Then posters switch to positive to argue. Renney was a moron. No, he's great. The team is winning. If he doesn't play prospects it's because they aren't ready. First I supported getting Avery the first time and got tons of crap for it. Then when they brought him back and he was a moron, I was pleading for the team to dump him. Then all I heard was, what a stupid move. We need a spark plug. Losing Avery is the reason the team sucks. Basically, just tons of posters out there who take the opposite just to argue.

I could come on this board, state the sky is blue and have at least 10 clowns start arguing with me that it isn't just to be a pain in the ass.

We'll see what they do against the Islanders. They are similar to Tampa. They are a young, fast, deep offensive team. Rangers speed isn't nearly as big of a factor vs. those teams. Which was obvious when the Islanders scored 6 goals when they played the Rangers.

You are flat out wrong dump, outside of prospects you are always negative bro. I don't need to argue with you...give me a break.

I have called this team for what it is all season dump...a very good team. You don't see me sitting here saying we are this great or dominant team. You don't see me sitting here saying we are the best team in the NHL (although right this second we are playing like the best team in the NHL). You have seen me say FOR WEEKS we need another top 9 forward, hopefully with some size, to be complete and a legit SC threat. So I have been saying all those things from the start.

The issue here is twofold bro:

1. While I have been honest about what we are, you have been saying we suck. This player sucks, that player sucks, Hank is old now and not what he was 3 years ago, on and on. And that is all flat out ridiculous. Period end of story. No need to discuss it further.

2. You see people write what you want to see them write in here. That's what you do. So while I have been saying exactly what I wrote above ALL SEASON you have turned that into me saying we are the greatest team in hockey history. That is what you do to help your lost cause. It's okay, I love you bro and I have said that tons of times. You amuse me, so I want you to please keep doing what you do. It's like the MDZ thing I was 100% right on for years. We used to go back and forth, and whenever I said he wasn't good, you would always say oh you see the one Devil series and think he stinks. I would say TIME AFTER TIME I never even mentioned the Dev series, and one random series does not a career make. But as you do, you would say post after post the Devil series the Devil series even though it was never mentioned by me. Again it is what you do, but please keep doing it...I honestly enjoy reading your posts.

Kreider....very impressive 1st period tonight. 1G 1A

That goal by Kreider where he basically set up shop in front of the net, told the d-man to take a hike and muscled that goal into the net is why the rangers will never trade this kid.

What impressed me about the win last night was clearly we didn't have our best game, but we still found a way to win. Last night was a night we needed Hank, and he got it done. Team continues to find ways to win games, which is exactly what good teams do.

It is funny how dump has been quite lately regarding Kreider, since CK has picked up his game lately. He was ready to banish Kreider to the minors just a month ago. He stood by MDZ for some reason who has an IQ of 13 year old pewee hockey player. Go figure.

I'd like to see a couple more studs like Kreider......a tall speedy forward causing
havoc in front of opposing goalers. I could not agree more with your
assessment, Mrmel.

Nah Cage. According Chuck all is well. The playoffs aren't a second season or different game.

There you go again dump, seeing what you want to see. That is actually exactly what I have not said, but again you do you bro...LOL.

Chuck literally has been lurking here all day because he can't take the fact he was ripping Nash apart like everybody last year and got caught denying it. I'm sure he's planning his Stanley Cup parade already despite the fact it is January.

That's funny dump. I give you credit man I really do.

Just so you know, my offer of help from last year still stands. PM me if you want some help bro. I am here for you man. I truly mean that.

Here is the last thing I will say to you on this subject. We simply have a difference of opinion on this team and players.

I think we have a very good team. A team that if we added a physical top 9 forward with size, something I have been calling for all season, could be a very legit SC threat.

You on the other hand have been saying we suck all year and all our players suck.

I won't knock you for your opinion, totally your right to have that opinion. We simply agree to disagree. All good bro.

BTW...I was watching hockey night live today and EJ, Valiquette, and MacLean all picked the Rangers and Hawks in the SCF right now. Guess they are all idiots as well...LOL.

They look like a solid playoff team for sure but some like the hockey night live guys are getting way ahead of themselves predicting the Rangers in the finals when were not even at the halfway point. Moves will be made and who knows if injuries may happen. The young guys are maturing and helping the team gel but despite that you can notice things they are still lacking. When you have a HL/Talbot combo and Nash playing like an mvp candidate that makes up for some of it too. Stempniak has been really good and Klein should've been an all-star. They need one more solid vet forward net presence as we've beaten to death and we'll see if Hayes/Miller/Fast can last into the spring. Boyle as i've said will find his groove as he's starting to now and really makes the pp dangerous. Staal to me looks like he's lost a step and is struggling to keep up but others don't see it that way.

Team needs to add some pieces down the stretch. If not for anything but depth. Glencross might be an interesting option if the Flames fall out 0f it. He's an UFA next year. Exactly the type of forward I would want to add.

Of course it is way early sc, but they are picking now at the 1/2 way point. I am sure they will make SC picks 5 more times before the season ends. What does it mean today...not much except that we are playing well right now. Outside of that doesn't mean a darn thing...LOL.
