Obviously this is inexact because we don't know who exactly will be the backcourt starters. But I think given what we know we can make some projections. We have a great backcourt. We should be able to do a lot with it.
 
Atlanta and Toronto should be ranked higher. Possibly above ours.

Well, actually, I'd say we're even with Atlanta, and Toronto...a bit higher. Idk, it's difficult to judge.

New York is far better than Charlotte's and Indiana's, though.



I agree, though. We have a very talented and very balanced backcourt IMO. They'll most likely be the ones that carry this team...if this team does go anywhere.

Ill give you Atlanta, though I think Bibby is losing it. New York's starting PG could be Chris Duhon. That's a joke. I'd rather have TJ Ford. Charlotte has Felton (who improved last year though will have to give way to Augustin) as well as Richardson. I definitely don't think NY is as good as Charlotte. Maybe Indiana. As for Toronto, Calderon is good, but Anthony Parker isn't anything special. He's not Vince Carter thats for damn sure.
 
Interesting topic, but it seems really subjective. I think I'd put Toronto higher but I can understand why people wouldn't. The Jose/Parker duo is only starting this season and both players' true values come from how they play with the rest of the team (I think this topic is unfairly slanted to great individual players).

NY is better than Indiana, though. Indiana has TJ Ford and...Marquis Daniels? NY has Jamaal Crawford and Chris Duhon. Duhon's pretty good at running a team, and is a good defender, while Crawford is a great scorer.

Parker's a very solid player, solid defender, great 3 point shooter, and Calderon's pretty much an all-star with TJ gone. I expect a lot of progression from Calderon, and continuing solid play from Parker. I'd say we're even with them.
 
Detroit has the best backcourt ,Cleveland has the worst. The Nets are around the top of the East in backcourts.
 
Harris and Carter are pretty good, but better than Miller and Igoudala? I dont know
 
Indiana mostly played Dunleavy and Kareem Rush at SG. Next year it will probably be Dunleavy and Brandon Rush.

So with Ford, Jack, Tinsley, Dunleavy and Brandon Rush I'd say they have a pretty decent backcourt

Iguodala is more of a 3. Louis Williams plays the 2.

I was under the impression that Iguodala and Dunleavy were small forwards...so that's how I'm judging those teams.
 
after the backcourt lets rank the frontcourt..


the Nets frontcourt IMO, is doomed.
 
Here would be my quickly put together rankings taking into account proven players, depth, offensive and defensive talent, and including players who I believe will actually be in the rotation for their teams:

3. Philly (Andre Miller, Iggy, Green, Williams)
4. Milwaukee (Mo Williams, Redd, Sessions, C. Bell, Lue)
5. Boston (Rondo, Ray Allen, T. Allen, Cassell, bonus points for being champs)
6. Charlotte (Felton, J-Rich, Augustin, Carroll)
7. Atlanta (Bibby, Johnson, Law, Evans(?))
8. NJ (Harris, VC, Dooling)
9. Chicago (Rose, Hinrich, Gordon, Sefolosha, Hughes)
10. Indiana (Tinsley, Dunleavy, Ford, Jack, Rush)
11. Toronto (Calderon, Parker)
12. Orlando (Nelson, Pietrus, Bogans, A. Johnson)
13. Miami (Wade, Chalmers, D. Cook, Marcus Banks)

Dunleavy played SG most of the time last season. He started at SG, Granger started at SF, and Dunzo played G a lot because hes a good ball handler and distributor.

With Iggy, hes kind of a G/F but I'm assuming he'll be the SG now with Brand forcing Bad Thad into SF. Hes definitely got a SG body, SG handle, SG passing ability, etc. and I think he'll actually play SG this season.

Milwaukee has a great deep bunch, but they don't really gell together that is why I think they are so low

Ah, I see. I'll keep that in mind, then.
 
Iggy is a SG who was forced to play SF because of the lack of depth at PF last year. He will be the starting sg this year.

Man you guys are really underrating Miami
There is no way in hell I would pick Indiana and Orlando before them. I dont care if Wade has to play by himself, I would still place MIA higher in the list. Maybe even over Atlanta.

The Pacers have a SF named Danny Granger.

Dunleavy played 36% of the Pacers minutes at the SG position last year.

Daniels in comparison was only 27%.
