Personally, I don't listen to NY state of mind when I go clubbing - I listen to Young Joc and all that type. You can't hate on one specific genre - the type of music you guys hate is good at what its supposed to do - no one considers "In my white tee" real rap...you guys need to relax about that stuff. We know you hate 50.

We shouldn't hate the mainstream rappers themselves, we should hate the stupid ass fans that buy their records. Want to know more on the issue? Listen to that song by Big L "I don't Understand It"

I aint gonna say I hate them but I don't like MOST southern rappers.. due to such simplistic lyrics being said. However there are other rappers beside southern rappers who suck as much as those school house rappers. I aint callin out names cause its pretty obvious who sucks with out a good beat and produce simple material. HOWEVER, I HATE WALK IT OUT and CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP. The dance is interesting in CNS but.. ugh

New York rap is sucking about now except for a few like SunNY, Saigon, Jay Z and Nas.....West coast rap is wack...period. South music is so undergournd, you wouldnt hear I unless you lived in the South.

Mainly I hate 50 Cent, Diddy, Young Joc, Young Jeezey etc...All so annoying...Especially diddy.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BALLAHOLLIC? @ Feb 11 2007, 11:12 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Honestly, you guys who hate rappers because they are mainstream are pathetic. You have no idea whether they are fake or not. Mainstream music is what makes money, they sell records and make money, that's all that matters.

50 cent, Young Joc, ect. Those guys are the smart ones, they are making all the money. I would much rather make mainstream music while getting paid tons of money, then make 'real' music to please the small percentage of people out their who listens to it.</div>
While I understand that, give me a break. The fact that some of those people even GET DEALS is f*cking absurd. Ying Yang Twins... WTF are they good for? They have no f*cking talent. They are 2 burnt out f*cking losers who have no talent, no good lyrical ability, and they honestly have the IQ of a 10 year old raisin.

Lil Jon... he gets paid millions of dollars to scream words. Well, why don't we get any random kid in a high school with ADD and say "I'll pay you $4 million if you scream "yeah" on a song with me." That's what happens.

And the other guys... "I'm fly, I got a car... I'm BALLIN!" What f*cking talent is that? I could make a song with their lyrical level in 10 minutes.

And I know what you might say: "What about the sh*t you listen to, CB32. All about their life in the struggle and how they hustle." Well, they have talent. They speak the truth about their lives and what really goes on. The guys that go mainstream come from those places and they call themselves hard and then they go around singing like girls and talking about nothing but cars and how good they look now.

I wouldn't mind mainstream if those motherfuckers actually had talent. The problem is that they don't have any talent, honestly.

BINGO! You nailed it, and that song nails it. Big L is a legend.

Some of these rappers I'll admit your right about and had some decent lyrics before they got popular like 50 Cent. They weren't anything incredibly but they did take some talent. Howver rappers like Jim Jones, Unk, Yung Joc, Dem Franchise Boys, eytc. clearly have no talent. All they can do is come up with stupid dances or phrases and MTV makes it popular. You can't say they have talent when all those rappers have never released one song that took even a ;ittle talent. Also how is it pathetic tp hate rrappers that ruined the hip hop music industry? I mean they totally changed the reason for listening to rap music. Rap used to be about listening to the lyrics and now it's about bopping your head to it or dancing in clubs to it. They made rap music today a joke, so I don't see how it's pathetic to hate them. Seriously though you are incredibly ignorant about hip hop is you think a rapper like Yung Joc has talent and just chooses to make mainstream music.

Exactly. All these new mainstream "rappers" can't do ANYTHING... absolutely NOTHING... without a hot beat behind them.

They didn't ruin hip hop, People love that kind of music, it's far from ruined. Even if I did think Young Joc had talent, that makes me ignorant? Get a clue bro, it's called an opinion. You guys say they have no talent, but nobody here could do better.

I got my candy painted whip,
bi*ch get off my tip,
I got all these ho's on my hip,
And I look good as sh*t

Bang, that's equivalent to most of the sh*t guys like Lil Jon, Lil Wayne, The Ying Yang Twins, etc. come up with.

Not really, it takes a lot of talent to make your sound flow perfectly with the beat. I'm not going to debate about this, it's common sense. If you want to make money as an artist, you need to put out mainstream music. You guys can continue to post, I'm not going to respond.

Okay, I'm not the biggest rap fan and hate the majority of rap artists, so I'm just going to list the few rappers that I like. Also, please read everything I wrote, becuase I'm sure someone will start telling me I'm stupid for not likiing these rappers when I plainly state in the previous sentence what I'm doing. Please prove me wrong. :dunno: NasKanye WestEminemDr. DreJay-Z2pacI pretty much dont like anyone else.

I hope you meant the old EminemAlotve rappers like UNK, Dem Franchise Boys etc etc. only get air time because of other artists and successful like Lil Scrappy and TI brought them up. But really, if you supposedly hate south rap.....please pick up some old UGK, old 36, SOME Yo Gotti, hell...even go for Pimp C. Kinfolk..Playa Fly, come on.......

Maintstream rappers... there are a few that are actually good, but its true.. its about the money, and I doubt some of them could care less what others think. It's not just a HOT BEAT in some cases. NEver underrate the people responsible for the MARKETING of the paticular artists and the steps they make before the artist even comes out. In some cases though it is the beat. Not sayin I like this but hell if I could get a hot beat put some stupid repetitive flow that gets into the mind of us young nigs, im there.

That's respectable to me. I just won't listen to them in my spare time.

not all mainstream is out to get the dough...alotve them become mainstream just from being that good. Then again, rappers such as Chamillionare, UGK, 36, TI all were underground and decided to go mainstream...which they all did very easily almost on will.

I didn't mean each and every mainstream rapper anyways.

Sometimes I think the whole mainstream vs 'real' rap argument is awfully repetitive and boring. But yeah, I listen to mainstream..don't really care if it "takes no talent" or whatever..I just like mainstream as much as I like 'real' rap.But back on topic...I don't really care for Bow Wow.

Most of the mainstream rap I hate is the stuff that people go around rapping and trying to be cool. Like We Fly High especially. Goin Down by Young Joc also gets on my nerves. No, not all mainstream rap is sh*tty.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (boykinsforpresident @ Feb 12 2007, 07:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Dude I guarantee in a rap battle emenim would tear anyone you threw at em up. He is the best rapper ever.</div>
He's not the best rapper ever, but I do like him a lot. The old Eminem was killer! And yes, in a battle, he can rip up almost everybody... but not everybody. A guy who would kill literally anyone in a freestyle battle would be Big L.

I don't even call mainstream rap .. rap ! its crap and it's a descraseee to Hip Hop itself.

Ain't feelin the new 50. He don't deliver the way he did when he was still hungry. Cassidy's a beast, but the way he went from singing with R. Kelly, to rappin with The Game. Nope go back 2 RnB. I do hope he recovers well from that accident thou.Mims: No talent whatsoever. Until I hear the rest of his album, he's trash. Dike Jones - LMFAO, Chamillionaire killed his assFranchise boyz, Unk. There's A LOT more, I just can't think ATMHating mainstream rappers is plain stupid. Yeah, most of them is trash, but some of them still come off hard, not on that bubblegum sh*t.

This topic maddd old, but I gotta put in my two cents.I see a lot hate on 50 and G-Unit here, but I can't agree with that. Yes, they aren't as good as others, however, they aren't nearly as bad as:MimsRich Boy (throws some D's on it!?!? wtf!?!)Yung JocYoung DroDem Franchise BoyzJim JonesDipset entirely except Juelz which I can only standAkonThree 6 MafiaI could easily go on.That being said, my top 5 is1. Nas2. Eminem3. Tupac4. Jay-Z5. Combo of Meth & RedHowever, the top 5 that I listen to are1. Eminem2. 50 Cent3. The Game4. Lloyd Banks5. Dr. Dre / T.I.

I was about to flame about you putting 36 Mafia....but I noticed that you put 50 cent as a favorite, so your opinion doesn't matter to me...lol.btw, Throw some Ds on it is a slang term

lol. I hate that song tho. its so annoying. THROW SOME D's ON THAT......

I realize, but that song takes zero skill to write, I could write that, a 5 year old could. And I lost all respect for 36 Mafia when they came out with Poppin' My Colla. That song is right up there with We Fly High and It's Goin Down. Then again, I really don't even hate them that much, I just hate that song, so I guess forget I ever listed them. lol
