Raptors GM Ujiri Charged With Battery of a Police Officer

Unhappy Raptors fans watch the altercation. Again, no video of the start of it.

Part of me wants to become a cop so I can try and make a difference. Why the heck would I want to become someone that is immediately hated by a majority of people though and it wouldn't make one damn bit of difference how good of a cop I was.

I get the sheriff's dilemma but one of the issues is that if a cop abuses their powers it is often covered up or justified by false charges from good cops. They need to start eliminating the bad seeds and stop making excuses for them.

I was a member of the oregon state police explorers program in high school. I grew up wanting to be a cop.

NOW HERE'S SOME SHIT WE CAN AGREE ON!!!
The voice of that officer who is screaming all the time, that's pure hate. That motherfucker wanted to kill the women for no reason. Absolutely disgusting. Imagine the trauma this woman suffers. I'm sure not every cop is like that, but i've been watching a lot of Videos like that on YouTube, holy shit wtf is going on in america sometimes

Here's the thing, cops don't out their brothers.

They like to say "see something say something" but they see their co-workers doing foul shit all the time ava they say nothing.

They have the same no snitch policy. If you became a cop good have to subscribe to the same no snitch policy. Those that don't are pretty much expelled from the force.

Until ALL OF US get rid of the no snitch policy, things will not change.

There must be huge structural changes.

I don't hate cops. We need good ones. I just don't trust them and have a PTSD reaction every time I see one.

This is the shit I'm talking about. A call for a shoplifting incident doesn't call for the cops to run in guns drawn like it's the fucking OK Corral. Plus their screaming isn't helping to keep the situation under control. The fucking cops are the ones making a controllable situation completely chaotic.
Yes, the screaming is pure hate, motherfuckers like that should never be a Cop

Yeah, that's exactly what needs to change.

It's kind of like the #metoo movement. Using your power in Hollywood to abuse and sexually assault women was known about for decades and people were scared to do anything about it.

Officers don't just snap like that all of a sudden. I bet he's lost his cool plenty of other times. I understand the no snitching thing but between social media and body cams there is often times no need to snitch. The bad eggs seem to out themselves.

Officers like the ones involved here should be fired and probably arrested.

I would venture, if it's a white guy impeccably dressed in a 5k suit like he was, that cop says jack shit.

Do you think Trump will invite Marc Gasol to the Whitehouse?

Trump MUST demand that our treaties with Canada be renegotiated.
For every NBA finals between an American and a Canadian team, the American team must be guaranteed at least 10 FTs more than Canadian team. All referees must be USA Americans ... we can never allow Canadians to beat us on own soil again.

We should invade Canada.

too well defended:

What we know for sure is, our thin skinned, whiny, man baby president cares.
We also know for sure that he drives the angry, hysterical loonie lefties out of their minds, which is so much fun to watch.

Some reporting from Toronto newspaper that seems more in depth: "However, The Globe has interviewed three men who were sitting within 10 feet of the altercation, and each says they never saw Mr. Ujiri strike the officer’s face."
And on how the police are really trying to milk this: "Police have said the deputy suffered a concussion and jaw injury as a result of the incident and he is currently off work. Sacramento-based litigation lawyer David P. Mastagni says he has been retained by the officer and that his client has not ruled out suing the Raptors, the NBA and Mr. Ujiri, who is already facing a criminal investigation."

My guess from the beginning was that the officer was embellishing on being hit just to get "paid".

But this article does suggest one thing that I asked from the beginning: in the confusion with people rushing the court what is security looking for? Was there a specific color of badge that helped them distinguish who was allowed on the court?

"According to police, Mr. Ujiri did not have the specific credentials needed to enter the court. The Raptors executive appeared to be holding a red badge, but only officials with a purple badge and gold arm band were allowed on the court."

This could be bullshit and Ujiri could have had the right credentials, but it is a huge factor on why the guard tried to stop him. That was his job. With people rushing by to join the celebration, the security guards are pretty much just looking for one thing, the color of your........ badge. And if Ujiri was holding the badge in his hand and it wasn't even the right one, of course he was going to get stopped if he tried to rush by.

Body cam turned off before altercation. Wow, so unlucky for the totally in the right deputy!

The police also claim to have footage showing the incident as they described it which they are not releasing.

Witnesses saying Ujiri, showing his credentials, was shoved, and retaliated. Shame the deputy is so badly injured and traumatized. Ujiri should be locked up.

The people that advocate for racists are the fuckin' loonies and the people who cheer them on are worse than them.
