Rasheed Wallace: Embracing the good and bad moments

So given the good and the bad who is better, Sheed or LMA?

The only thing "sheed" could be counted on for was to meltdown emotionally in the biggest moments. He was an asshole that alienated fans and probably the biggest waste of talent in NBA history. And fuck Raymond Felton too.

LA owns Sheed. Sheed never averaged over 19.3 points for a season and never averaged over 8.2 rebounds for a season.

Sheed had the tools to be better than LMA on both sides of the floor, he just refused to use them or play to his strengths consistently. So I have to go with LMA.

Isn't Sheed considered by most to be a player who had so much unrealized talent? Similar to Randy Moss.
Supremely talented but couldn't stay out of his own way?

Have to go with Aldridge on intangibles alone. Just for skill level? Aldridge and Sheed are similar in that aspect.

Skill-wise Sheed was far superior to LMA. Same with his ability to entertain.

For someone that has blind hatred for Aldridge like you posted just recently, it's pretty funny how you just defended Sheed... Talk about oxymoron

One of my favorite players ever. He knew about Donaghy before any of us. And he was right to throw the towel at Sabonis. He was rightly frustrated with getting hit by the big man.

Rasheed was never the problem. It was everyone else. Trade Damon, Pippen, Sabonis, Grant, Smith, Bonzi, picks and others for Billups, Hamilton, Ben Wallace, and Prince and we win at least one championship.

I don't know how you could say that about moss. He's gonna be a hall of famer, hard to say he had so much unrealized talent.

Easy, Moss was supremely talented and gifted.
Sheed was supremely talented and gifted.

Both were however head cases and that took away from how talented they were. Mentally neither were the player they could have been if they could have put it all together.
If Moss had the drive of Jerry Rice, then Moss would be a first ballot hall of famer and most likely still be playing in the NFL if he wanted to. As well as considered the best WR of all time. Except he's not even in that convo because of being a head case.
He may or may not get inducted into the hall of fame. I highly doubt he'll be a first ballot even though he had the talent to be easily.
If Sheed had the drive of Duncan, KG, Malone.. Then Sheed would make the hall of fame. As of now that's in question...(not saying I think he should be in the HoF. only saying he had the talent for it)
But what isn't in question is that Sheed had the talent to make the hall of fame. Except he ruined his chances by being a head case.

I think Moss is a 1st ballot guy no matter what. He is like top 5 in everything and broke all sorts of records in New England.

There was a whole lot more Bad & Ugly than Good when it came to Rasheed Wallace. Glad he is gone and i would not have applauded him had i been there last night.

So you say because Shaq knocked Sabonis into Rasheed he should have blamed Him for it and thus throwing a towel into your starting centers face that was taking on the hardest assignment in the game at the time was a good move? I see....

I loved Sheed's game. As a Blazer he guarded elite bigs like Shaq better than anyone could. Underrated player and got snubbed for multiple allstar nods, couldn't get a call to save his life which led to bitterness toward the way the games were called. I was glad to see him win a ring in Detroit and that roster brought out the best in him. He was his era's Dennis Rodman. Refs hated him. I was thrilled he went to the Blazers game last night. Off the court he had issues, we know that but on the court he was a great player. I couldn't compare Lamarcus to him because Sheed was to defense what LA is to offense. LA put up better numbers. Sheed got stops. He called the Donaghy controversy and he was right. Donaghy gave him a ton of techs to shave pts and affect games. Pissed Sheed off but Sheed was right all along.

The first half of that is bollocks..
No, it really isn't. I get that people don't like Sheed, but he was SO much more talented than LMA. Hate him for not cashing in on that talent all you want (nevermind that he won a championship), but he slays LMA in every imaginable way (skill-wise).

Explain? Sheed was always upfront about not wanting to be the centerpiece of a team. And as I've illustrated, PFs shouldn't be the centerpiece of a championship team. There's nothing oxymoronic about liking Sheed and disliking LMA.
And just look at those videos I posted in the game thread - Sheed would rarely embarrass himself with that sort of play. He'd embarrass himself in other, more entertaining ways.

Uhhh what? Everything I've heard has Moss easily at #2. Moss will be a first ballot hall of famer.
