OT Rasheed Wallace still tearing it up at 40 years old

I watched Sheed's career pretty closely and toward the end, he did get loose but it was accumulative frustration and I believe he never got fair treatment. Donaghy reffed a million games and admitted he planted techs on Sheed all the time. Read his book and it is an eye opener for the unfair era when Sheed was a Blazer. I trusted Dick Bavetta, but superstars like Shaq got away with murder, actually so did Michael Jordan

Fair enough. But one cheater's techs don't tell the whole story.

The way the NBA reffed Shaq is honestly one of the largest reasons why I hate the league. He practically committed an offensive foul every time down the floor.

There was an ugly era of superstar coddling in the NBA during Sheed's prime. Shaq, Kobe and Michael Jordan got away with complaining aggressively at refs without getting T'd up. Guys defending them often had a legitimate complaint.

They still do it. Those days are not gone, but Shaq was probably one of, if not the, worst in the history of the league when it comes to how he was reffed.

Sheed was hired at the summer of 2013 and Dre showed progress at 2013-2014 (PPG,FG%,RPG etc...) and i don't give 2shits about "normalizing his rookie numbers to 32 minutes" because it's irrelevant.

And then he regressed in his third season. His RPG and PPG numbers were nearly identical to his second season, but his FG% took a significant dip. To me, one step forward followed by one step backwards does not equate to forward progress.

Still Drummond just turned 22 a month ago, and is obviously still a work in progress, but to date, he really hasn't shown much overall improvement in spite of getting a LOT of PT. They are VERY different players, but Meyers Leonard has shown much, much more progress in far less PT (2408 MP for Leonard vs. 6364 MP for Drummond) - but then, Meyers had a LOT more room to improve.

As far as i know he's got a job in the Pistons' training\coaching staff and he contributed to Andre Drummond's development.

Lord... I wonder how many times sheed said "ball dont lie" in practice...

Fair enough.
I heard he started shooting 3s because of Sheed, we'll wee how he pans out.

Rasheed Wallace was a great, great acquisition by Bob Whitsitt.

Although he never was a Blazer, J-Will is also still running game...

Jason Williams was as good at passing off the dribble as Maravich, Rubio, and Sergio combined. I never understand how the nitpickers succeeded in dragging down his career over his defense. The same thing has happened to Lillard's clutch shooting.

Man, was he fun to watch his rookie season. Then, downward like Lillard and Sergio.

True for Williams and Rodriguez, but I think it's a little early to say Lillard's shooting is no longer clutch. I think this season will be telling for that with him being the undisputed leader of the team and all the new teammates. He'll have new opportunities and we may see some renewed clutch game. Guess we'll find out soon...

Anyhow, the last time I saw sheed play was a few years ago with the Knicks. He got ejected less than 2 mins into the game. What a surprise.
