Playing at the NC Pro-Am (can we get a Felton vs. Nolan game?):

(This link should start at 2:18, but it doesn't seem to be doing that. Skip ahead and you'll see it say that Felton is #8 in white.)

Description of the game:

The better matchup was two players not guarding each other. Raymond Felton and John Henson both put on a display of scoring buckets. Henson led Triangle G in scoring as he controlled the paint and had 13 dunks during the game. It appeared as if he were the only person in the paint at times but he has improved his offensive game so much that it is fun to watch. Felton is just crafty. He looks a tad bit out of shape as he has added a few pounds but he is still fast with the ball and no point guard in the building is strong enough to guard him one on one. I have to admit, I was hoping to see Felton vs. Wall tonight but of course it didn't materialize.

I'm trying to think of successful chunky PGs. Sherman Douglas? John Bagley?

At least we've found our backup power forward.

wow he looks horrible lol, get it together raymond!

Well at least he is easy to spot out. Only one wearing a t-shirt and riding his shorts above his bellybutton . . . oh and the heavy looking one out there.

Not skinny?

Dude looks like the son of Kirby Puckett and Tony Gwynn

yeah I cant see anyone getting offended over those two

switch them, though, and you're pretty close.

I think you guys are overreacting. He's playing against tall and skinny college kids.

I think that might have been a video from the future. Like, 18 years from now after Felton has been retired for 10 years and packed on 40 pounds. And ran like he was 60.

You sure that wasn't Prince Fielder playing!!??

He has always been stalky though right? Not a big as Baron Davis.....

WHoever #11 is, we need to sign him today!

He's a fucking professional athlete in his mid-twenties ... not a 40 year old accountant playing pickup at the 'Y'
In the immortal words of Christian Bale:

"So.

Goddamn.

Unprofessional."

I'm not gonna put too much stock into this, but... if/when he struggles as a Blazer, I'm sure we'll hear all about his body shape.

Ed O.

Baron was a chunky dude, and he was successful. When he wanted to be.

Some people just have a little pudge that's tough to get rid of. I don't think the contrasting white shirt and long black shorts is doing Felton any favors either.

The Blazers have put some faith in him by trading for him, I'm sure he'll respond to it, It's a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Tim Hardaway, Andre Miller, Baron Davis....

If Felton shows up out of shape, I'll give him the same treatment I gave Andre Miller when he showed up to his first camp out of shape.

Oh Gawd. The trailing ref beats Felton down the court at 3:48, and Ray doesn't even enter the picture. Reminds me of the old guys who stand at half-court on offense when the youngsters are running the break. Problem is, Felton isn't an old guy!

I thought you were joking ... then I watched the video. It made it even more funny! He literally was wearing a too-tight t-shirt and had the shorts hiked. All he was missing was a waist belt and goggles and he's any old guy playing raquetball at the local gym!

Oooo scary. I'm sure he'll go hit the treadmill as soon as he hears this.

In what way is it once-in-a-lifetime?

Since this is Felton's fourth NBA team, I'm thinking it's more like a fourth in a lifetime opportunity. ;)

Bobcat's, not much opportunity to win there

NY, ditto

Denver, Ty Lawson's Team

Portland Trail Blazers - Given the reins straight away, with G.O., Wallace, and a rested/vastly improved LMA it's WCF or bust.

Felton has always had a chunky look to him. He's built like a brick, sure. But, I dont think he's out of shape. I'm not really too worried about it.

These summer league games are a joke to try to analyze a player in a good or bad way. Watched or participated in these type of leagues here in NE Portland for years. No D is ever played. Take it for what it is......
