Given how bad we are WITH Jerami, should we re-consider re-signing him? Especially to a huge contract? I'm pretty sure we WILL re-sign him and it'll be to reassure Dame that we're actually trying, when we should trade Dame and only re-sign Jerami to a team-friendly deal.

It always depends upon the terms...

If it's less than $28M/yr - you resign him.

Jerami is one of the pieces that actually works on this roster and when looking at him and Dame as teammates, they are more than the sum of their parts... they are better because they are playing together. So we should so we should be doing everything we can to get Jerami on that four year 112M extension or a wink wink deal like we obviously had with Ant and Nurk that is in the same ballpark but gives Jerami five years of stability instead of four.

It's funny, everyone talks about trading Josh Hart because he's on an expiring team-friendly deal, but nobody talks about trading Grant. This is probably because Grant is (supposed to be) our only true 2-way player and was our big acquisition this offseason. But (a) Josh Hart has a much better +/- (cue triggering of that section of the board who have an irrational hatred of that stat) than Jerami, and (b) guess what - acquiring Grant didn't make us better!

I say: avoid the worries about Grant's contract by TRADING HIM NOW. He's our best asset! We've hashed-and-re-hashed the fact that nobody's likely to offer us anything for Anfernee, but the very features that are supposed to make Grant great (perfect complementary 2-way player) make him attractive to other teams, particularly those on the cusp of contending.

Guess what (again)? THAT AIN'T US. We're a lottery team, so Grant is a luxury.

LOL...

The Rasta Formula: if Portland isn't a strong contender, keep trading the best players, year after year, until Portland is a strong contender

considering the average life expectancy for American men is 74.5 years....FUCK!!

I'm all for trading Grant and doing a patient quality rebuild. I just don't see ownership, Joe, or Dame wanting to.

If they give him a max deal I'm gonna rage.
Yeah, if it's 5 years and 200M+ because I think the very most we could sign him for is 40.2M in the first year of the deal, I will be fucking livid. I'll also be a bit surprised.

The guy was reported to be seeking 4 years and ~120M if he played out his deal and signed with a new team. If his deal starts at 30M for next season and is as much as a five year deal with the maximum annual raises, I think that would put it at 5 years and ~160M.

That's what I would think he would get from us but this team under current ownership has let me down enough times that my level of surprise if they gave him way too much would be small.

Trading our best two way player makes us better how???

You lost me at “… trade Dame”

The Blazers have the lowest scoring bench in the league and it’s insane how many people here think the starters are the major problem.

True, but it's hard for me to remember past the last game these days, and the starters ABSOLUTELY were the problem.
