When you're at games that chalupa coupons are handed out, save every one you can. Even take those given to you by other fans.

Then, when you're at a stoplight and a homeless person is asking for money, simply hand him/her one or two of those coupons. Might even make their day. Who knows. :)

No thanks, I prefer not to dine at Taco Bell next to smelly homeless people. It ruins the experience.

Heh, nobody "dines" at Taco Bell, silly.

I have been doing this for years. Chalupas are dogshit anyhow. Might as well feed somebody truly in need, and the chances of them bartering it for crack are pretty poor.

Taco Bell chalupas and crack can both kill you.

Screw that! When I pull up to a homeless person I roll down my window and say, "Hey, what's that?" And when they turn and look, I grab their bucket of change! I then spend it in the Pearl District on a fly new pair of kicks!

I gave funk plastic one once after a win. It was back before the blazers hired him to do halftime a couple times.

Yeah right.. as a Food Stamp Social worker I have a hard time anymore when they ask for money for food.. cause they get $176 in food stamps per month and thats more than 1 person needs per month in food.. they dont need more money trust me.

That is, if they are mentally capable of realizing they can get food stamps. Some of them, I am pretty sure have no idea of what they can and cannot do.

Unless they don't qualify for food stamps.

I'm sure you took that into consideration.

I promise you.. if they are no income people then they qualify for food stamps.

Well some yeah.. although a lot of those too can be on social security disability. But with the stats of people getting benefits in this state.. its a good chance they get them

I was walking out of Safeway this summer and a homeless person asked for money. I don't trust many of them as some of them just spend the money on drugs/alcohol. So I went back into safeway and got a sub/drink from the deli for him.

Giving them coupons/food is the only way to go. Don't give them money!

Obviously, when KP speaks of the Blazers new culture, he certainly doesn't have you in mind, bucko.

Flip the script...

Before they ask you for money, ask them for money before they have a chance.

Ha!

When I was in school there was a crazy homeless guy who would constantly ask people for cigarettes. He always had multiple packs in his shirt pocket and stuffed into the waistband of his sweats. He probably had 10-15 packs of cigarettes on him at all times yet would still ask for more.

I started asking him first and every time he had this shocked expression on his face like he didn't know how to respond. He just gave a quick "no" and took off the other direction. It was hilarious!
