...^^^some people think the Sox gave up too much to get Pomerantz...but for me I'd much rather have a young pitcher who has already proven he can pitch on the ML level and can help my team now instead of hoping that a highly touted young prospect (Espinoza) may or may not blow out his arm and who may or may not be able to help my team in the future.
...the Sox needed starting pitching now and they get Pomerantz for at least 2 1/2 years for peanuts. If he can continue to pitch in the 3.00 to 4.00 ERA range he will be a big boost to the Sox'x chances...solid move.

That move will no likely prompt a counter by Toronto or Baltimore we'll see.

Looks like a good safe trade for Redsox.
Pomeranz obviously doing well and may have turned his career around, could be a difference maker for Boston in div race and onward if he continues along.
Lol, Keith Law moved Espinosa up to the # 14 top prospect.....an 18 year old pitching at "A" ball. He currently has a 4.30 ERA 1.36 WHIP.

....take a look at his age and minor league "career" numbers compared to Domingo German's at the time he (German) was acquired by the Yanks as a throw-in (?) in the Eovaldo trade.
Nope, not saying German is going to be an "all star", not at all, just tossing it out there for fodder....he went down with arm surgery soon after he was acquired and is trying to make his way back currently with a 4.05 ERA 0.75 WHIP after 4 GS....and for all we know maybe Espinosa will be the second coming of Pedro.
Espinosa, is Keith Law's #14 prospect....German, at the time he was acquired, was just a young pitcher included in a Yankee trade.
