Tough loss....stings a bit, lose more ground in the standings.
Good news is Severino looked good, did very well.

With the bullpen doing it's usual good work (no runs) probably the "only" way the Yanks lose this game tonight is with Boston getting an unearned run and hitting a HR...sure enough, Boston gets an unearned run thanks to Headley and guess what....?......Ortiz provided the ultimate deciding HR.

Just your basic tough 2-1 loss....ouch!

No doubt, Headley has been terrible defensively this year and only Monday morning arm chair QBs expected it and act as if they were at the front of the line in the off season warning the Yanks not sign him because he's been a bad defensive 3b throughout his career and is going to make 20-30 errors this year.
lol

This one did bite him and the Yanks right on their asses.

I realize you can't win them all, but with the jays breathing down your neck, and a tough knuckleballer on mound, how bout shakin things up in game with some bunts hit & runs, base stealing.

b4 the cracks start, I realize you got to have men on base, just didn't get the feel that our coach took into consideration that wright struck out his first 5 of six batters, and that it was gonna be a tough nite to score some runs..., Ok I'll shut up now

That's actually a misnomer, but they do seem to be rarer in macs

...not a misnomer for me, hammer, because I've had "no worries" at all.

...I switched to a mac 2 years ago and have not have one single problem, crash, or anything else...no f'n annoying "updates, no f'n viruses/malware, no f'n defragging, and no f'n drivers to install, etc...it seamlessly maintains itself.

...no way I'll ever go back to a windows based unit...my wife now has my older E6400 and constantly has "problems" with it. And when I have to fix it for her it reminds me of why I switched in the first place.

...a mac may not be everyone's personal preference and I understand that...but keep in mind that we're talking about rick here, and he's not very computer savy and though there may be a very slight learning curve, I don't think it would be as great as going to windows10. Rick doesn't seem to have a need for a lot of power, editing programs, and other peripheral windows software. I'm sure tote will weigh in on this too, and that's fine because we agree on most things, but not everything.

...it may have happened somewhere, but I have never talked to anyone who once they switched from a windows unit to a mac, ever going back to the windows unit.

...can you post anything that is not related to bashing Girardi?...and let me get this straight, you claim to have played baseball but you somehow think it's easier to accurately bunt a knuckle ball as opposed to swinging at it?

Yeah, it would've been nice to see the knuckleballer Wright and fatboy Pablo move around a little bit fielding a couple/few bunt attempts.

Didn't Mantle "like" to drop an occasional bunt and also against knuckleballers?
I know he DID get quite a few bunt singles when he was a younger player.

We'll probably never see it happen, but I would like to see teams try and bunt a pitcher out of the game (so to speak) with whom they're having alot of trouble ESPECIALLY, such as a knuckleballer........everyone knows alot of these pitchers (esp relief pitchers) are a bunch of klutzes who aren't exactly ballet dancers........seems like "half" the time they either fumble/stumble or throw the ball away handling a good decent bunt attempt down the 3b line.

...Yanx had 5 hits in the whole game...so bunting would have made the difference...and the Yanx are loaded with good bunters...check.

That would require Ellsbury and Gardner to actually, oh, I don't know... do their job and try to steal bases... something they haven't done well this year, especially the later half

Severino had been coddled in Triple AAA. No matter
how he pitched, most times given one or two outings
he would be taken out after 5 innings. Not at all
surprised Girardi took him out after his 5 innings.

Hated to see the team lose and leave their bats in the
dugout. Kid deserved better.

I don't think it was that it was 5 innings, but that it was 94 pitches that resulted in him coming out...

I'll be damned if my players are going to be made to look the fool swinging at a dancin ball and I'm not gonna try and figure a way to reciprocate... And if I fail, I will tip my cap and move on...

And if you continue to disrupt my classroom master 59, you will leave me no choice , no bag of Cheetos during recess for you!

...no chee-tos?...well, that's where I draw the line...I'll be good, at least until after recess.

I hear ya.....aware Yanks aren't loaded with good bunters......I would just like to see "teams" (as I said) TRY and attack a pitcher with a couple/few bunts - just to make him move around, get out of his easy rocking chair as he's coasting along barely breaking a sweat.....I know we aren't going to see it happen with today's hitters- they hardly ever try and hit against exaggerated shifts.
