David Aldridge @daldridgetnt
Bobcats, Raptors, Blazers, Rockets all trying to sign Reggie Williams, whose qualifying offer from GS was rescinded Sunday. On the HT Blog.

He wouldn't be a bad signing. He's young and he can score. Good shooter. I'd take him for the mini MLE for 2 years or less.

nice off the bench guy, pure scorer, depends how much he costs

Jamal Crawford............................................ Josh Howard..... Reggie Williams.... Who cares

Oh and notice who the other teams that want him. None are making post season.

I'm down... Not a whole lot out there that were able to get because of our situation. Might as well try and get someone who can help out somewhat.

It's like we are picking up table scraps between Howard and Williams.

That's what happens with your starting 2 guard retires at the last minute. Take one for the Team B-Roy! Who cares if you can't walk when your 40!

They will if they sign a stud like Reggie Williams.

part of any Blazer plan is getting some depth that can play and does not cost too much. A guy like Williams for the mini MLE would seen a good value deal, he can shoot and score.

I would love to get a player for min MLE, then we can wait until this summer to analyze our team and work this sick ass free agent class this summer. If we only do min MLE, we should have around 10-14 mil to toss at one of them or be flexible enough to work some good sign and trades.

Nate must think that Williams sucks ass because the team is really trying to sign a SG in the worst way.

Seems to me we need front court help a lot more, no?

O-live report
Williams became unrestricted over the weekend when his former team, the Warriors, rescinded its qualifying offer to him in order to clear room for a four-year, $43 million offer sheet Golden State made to Clippers center DeAndre Jordan. The Clippers matched the sheet on Jordan Monday.

The 25-year-old Williams is one of the better shooters still available in free agency. He made 42 percent of his three-pointers at Golden State last season, averaging 9.2 points, mainly off the bench, for the Warriors.
Williams worked out for the Bobcats on Sunday, according to Aldridge.

Williams averaged 13 points per game last season against the Blazers, including a 28-point performance in the season finale.

I'll take 42% 3 ball shooting off the bench. Still just 25 years old..

He's a shooter. We need that. Badly.

This would be an excellent signing.

Word, lock-em up.

Very impressive.

13 ppg against the Blazers and 9 ppg against everyone else.

I like that he can shoot, but can he defend? He won't need to pass in Nate's offense, so that is a bonus

He was among the top 10 last year in 3pt %. I'll take that off the bench. You bet.

I like this. Nate would finally have someone in that James Jones role.

I take Reggie Williams over waiting for Patty Mills, Luke Babbitt, or Armon Johnson to develop.

Seems to me like its down to Crawford or Williams as our backup SG

basically Williams is plan b

I think E. Williams is a different type of SG than R Williams. Elliott is much more athletic but Reggie is a much better 3 pt shooter. We kind of need both types.
