Yup, the Karl Malone technique. Lead with the knee.

Pendergraph sounds unexcited.

When they moved it to Thursdays, I constantly forgot it was on. Now it's not even on the radio, and we can listen to "strong at night" instead?

Brilliant move. This is almost as smart as signing a TV contract for 10 years before making sure everyone has access to the new channel.

Way to kill off your audience! Some people might not always be near a computer when they listened to courtside. Like you know, in a car? I remember when the winterhawks tried to go internets only, and iirc, it failed miserably.

Who is the fucking idiot who came up with this?

From now on! It's crazy!

It seems strange to me to take it off period, let alone during the season. I can't speak for anyone else, but I know for a fact that the only reason I listen to the station is because they do Blazer games.

And even if you count "Wheels" show as Blazer talk, it's intermixed with Kenny Vance's "I need to get laid really bad" ranting, the stupid "party" thing that they do, and the tried and tru(ly boring) "stump the band" shtick.

The Blazers are the sole reason that stupid fucking station is around anyways. Even if Paul Allen sold it, no one would listen to it if the Blazers were being broadcast on KEX or 1080.

Does anyone know the email address of the station manager of the game?

I hope tonight's episode is better than last week's. Last week might have been the worst episode I've ever seen or listened to. Bob Akamian breaking down the first game of Summer Leage for two straight hours. They literally didn't talk about anything else. No rumors, nothing on the B-Roy/Aldridge situations, nope ... just Summer League.

Akamian is horrible. I have no idea how he keeps getting jobs.

What else are they going to talk about? They all work for the Blazers. They certainly won't talk about Roy getting dicked over by the Vulcans, or LMA increasingly likely not getting an extension this summer, or the lack of any upgrade at PG or SF.

It's either Summer League talk, or discuss how great last season was for the franchise.

I wonder if they'll take phone calls? Now THAT would be a fun show to listen to, especially if KP appears for a segment. :ghoti:

Rundown:
- Jerryd Bayless talk, "He'll be fine at point guard"
- Pooh Jeter, "What a surprise"
- Pendergraph and Cunningham, "Great pickups"
- Lame interview with either Wheels/Rice/Antonio/or MB, talking about their time in Vegas.
- Nothing groundbreaking.
End show.

This sucks! I can't get it to play. Just keeps breaking up with a spinning thingy! My main puter biting it and having to be on my wife's laptop wireless doesn't help I'm sure.

So anything new?

I started watching at about 6:45. I missed the Cunningham interview.

The last segment was MB defending the Blazers' inactivity. Standard company line, which I personally agree with part of but not all of, and which he's done pretty consistently.

You didn't miss too much. Cunningham didn't grab my attention in what he said. Other than his number is 33 b/c it was that in college, and coincidentally his draft order. Pie Chart also wore his order number, 31.

I like Mike the play-by-play guy and when he's talking about stuff when things are rolling along smoothly with team he's easy to take, but when he starts pumping the sunshine and boilerplate bullshit I can't really listen to him anymore, the same goes for Brian Wheeler's show during the afternoon this off-season. But I get it that they can't really do otherwise.

Well you missed it, at around 6:30, they said they don't want anybody who lives in Seattle to post on this forum anymore! Interesting huh?

There are more people in Seattle watching it (1) than in Portland (<1), I'd imagine.

Yes. I don't think they're bad guys or liars, but... ugh. Just can't take it as much as I bet they're nice guys in real life.

How have the Blazers been inactive this offseason, and how do you know how active they have or haven't been? No offense intended, Ed.

They've been unable to procure a free agent or a guy who is sure to get minutes in the rotation.

That is the very definition of inactivity to me.

I would call it a lack of results, not necessarily a lack of activity.

That's semantics. And by that definition, no team is EVER inactive. Every team is trying to do something--whether it's improve the team or make changes financially.

Come on, Ed, their activities have been failures, but they have been active. They actively went after Hedo and sign Millsap to a offer sheet. It's not a case of just listening and working the phs like other teams. Of course some have been more successful in their activities than we have, but we have been active.
