In the video he never mentions vacations. He just says that presidents must sacrifice some family life for the job.
He actually said he would not take vacations.
We all know it's possible to work these days while on vacation.
What, with the twitters and the facebooks? Time was, you sat down at a serious desk to do serious work.
Yawn.
When your avy pops up I can't help but to think of Droopy the dog

You have a saggy-ass face, PapaG. That'd suck to deal with.
I really don't care about his vacation habits. I wish he'd take the next 2 years off vacationing - less damage done to the republic that way.
Anyhow, i do find this interesting.
When Nixon went on vacation, he went to his home in San Clemente (the San Clemente White House).
When Reagan went on vacation, he'd go to his ranch in Santa Barbara.
When Bush went on vacation, he'd go to his family property in Maine.
When W went on vacation, he'd go to his ranch in Texas.
Compare to:
When Clinton went on vacation, he'd travel wherever and stay in some $billionaire's beach mansion.
Ditto Obama.
Strategically, they can set up a guy's ranch as an office on a semi-permanent basis. And going back to the ranch does not have the appearance of partying while the unemployed are giving up on trying to find work altogether.
No, actually he didn't. He said that that's the bargain a president strikes. He obviously said that knowing that all prior presidents took vacations, so I don't think that he literally meant he, if elected, would take no vacations.
But this is stupid anyway. It's not like he's gone off the grid and is unreachable for weeks at a time. We all know it's possible to work these days while on vacation.

I think it was known as the "Western White House"?
Neither Clinton nor Obama had a ranch or a family compound to return to. They lived full time at the white house. Doesn't seem particularly nefarious to me.

Since you asked, it's 37 seconds in. But he also said at the end of the video that while he was prepared to make that bargain, he hadn't yet done so, so although it was implied, he never really said that he wouldn't take vacations. It's boring and I don't want to listen again. What is the minute:second when he says the word "vacation"?

Silly complaint.
