The Reno Bighorns took down the Idaho Stampede Friday night, 108-101. The Bighorns are currently on a four gamewinning streak and stand at 17-11.
Idaho jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter as the Bighorns trailed 37-24 going into the second period of play. Idaho's Pierre Jackson tallied 15 points and Reno's Brandon Heath had 9 points.
After trailing by as many as 14 points, the Bighorns went on a 9-0 run in the final minute and a half of the second quarter cutting the Stampede lead to two points. Idaho led 56-53 at the half. KC Rivers ignited Reno's offense with 13 points in the first half while Mo Charlo and Mickell Gladness each grabbed 4 rebounds.
Reno came out strong in the second half going on a 7-0 run (11:00-9:15). Idaho cut the lead to one point with 5:55 left in the quarter (69-68) with a 10-0 run (8:05-5:55). The Bighorns finished out the third quarter strong leading 82-74 and finished the game with a 108-101 victory.
Reno was led by Brandon Heath with 19 points, 8 assists and 3 rebounds. Also in double figures for the Bighorns were: KC Rivers (18), Dequan Jones (17), Mo Charlo (16), Mickell Gladness (11) and Sundiata Gaines (11).
Pierre Jackson led the Stampede with a game-high 39 points. Kevin Murphy added 19 points and Dee Boost 11points for Idaho. Dallas Lauderdale also had a game-high 12 rebounds.
