If you don't have me on ignore, you know I have been advocating that Portland hire a female to the coaching staff.

SA and now Cleveland have female assistants.

I hope the Blazers take a look at someone like Dawn Staley to replace Vanterpool

I agree.

The only think I know about you is: you are a musician, live in Canby (love Canby) & captain and the star of the RCT basketball team.
Plus you are a lot of fun...

Hhahahahha holy shit hahaha.

Im laughing sooo hard right now.
Wanna know why?

Im about to get cracked on really hard for being captain and star of RCT. Lol. Im not gonna hear the end of this from bones and hoop and dviss and hc.

Right on though. Lol. The rest is mostly accurate. :)

Edit: maybe they will miss this. Sssshhhhhh. Hahaha

See @Orion Bailey, you mention dunking on someone enough times and people start to believe it!

You literally spoke it into existence, lol.

So as i look even more into the season i'm thinking the loss of David Vanderpool is bigger than we all are aware of. Doesn't seem like the Blazers have replaced him with the same kind of talent.

Pargo.

Were you sure of vanterpool when they hired him?
Vanterpool had 5 years experience and he was part of a championship coaching staff for Moscow. Pargo has nothing at this point. Not taking anything away from him. I hope he does well of course.

Tibbets is our lead assistant now. According to Stotts both he and Dave were taking turns in that role...now they just won't. Pargo is an interesting hire.

Lol, that may as well be nothing as well. Euroleague is a lot different. It’s not even the same court. If anything, the g league, where Pargo coached, is a lot closer to the NBA in its playbooks and concepts. Nevermind the decade + he spent playing in the league.

I trust Stotts when it comes to the pool of coaches at every level...he knows as much about that as anyone I've heard speak about coaching CBA etc..I enjoyed his stint on the coaches circle he did with Thibs, Rivers, Mitchell and a bunch of other coaches..Stotts stood out to me as a guy who'd been through the trenches on a lot of levels..

Don't forget his Big 3 title experience too, lol.

Lol... So you think one season as an assistant coach for the Windy City Bulls is better experience than winning a Euro League Championship and five years? Okay. Lets hope you are right. Go Pargo!

I'm gonna stand by my original statement. I think losing Vanterpool will be a bigger loss than we are giving credit for. Lets hope Pargo can at least hold his own.

I remember several posters all up in arms when Grugurich (sp) then Bayno and then Hughes were gone, but the team survived and moved on just fine.

Er, well, we lost any semblance of post game with Aldridge gone and Meyers' regression, so I'm not sure I'd agree that we survived the loss of Hughes just fine.

Yes, I know the chronology of Aldridge and Hughes leaving is up for debate.

I think way to much was made of Hughes and Leonards development. Plumlee, Nurkic and Collins seem to be developing just fine. I see no correalation between Hughes and Aldridge leaving other than Hughes speaking out where he shouldn't have.

Leonard was on the verge of blowing up when Hughes left. He became an inconsistent perimeter player after that. Plumlee was good at dunking and not much else. His best success came as a high post passer. Nurk was hot right out of the gates and has held pretty steady since. If anything, his interior game is slightly worse. That's not exactly development. Collins has developed slower than I hoped, and is primarily a perimeter player, just like Meyers became.
