The Republican led Kentucky Senate passed a bill making it illegal to insult police officers. Republican senators say it is meant to allow officers to protect themselves if protestors hurl insults at them. It will now go to the republican led Kentucky House and be passed.

This bill is an attack on free speech and a tool to allow officers to beat up protestors and arrest them easier. Ridiculous.

Did they even have a protest in Kentucky? Republicans love reacting to something their base cares about in the most meaningless ways possible. Buying time for nothing.

Yeah, Louisville to protest the killing of Breonna Taylor by police

Oh fair enough. Didn't associate that with the Floyd protests but it was around the same time. Still, I think that one was rather minor in the sense of any damages to police or property?

Some cops were shot. It was a pretty heated protest.

Still, this bill will only make things worse. It just emphasizes Kentucky Republicans care about blue lives and not black ones.

So this bill is both useless and makes the cops who actually had a pretty tough job that day look like pussies? Impressive.

But when do people stop being people? If a bug eats part of your corpse, is that bug now a people?

A bug is a people, yes. Except for a ladybug, which is a lady people.

When they are born.

Bill references insulting police in a way that leads to violence. In other words, someone beaten by cops would then be arrested for making the cop do it. Like every abuser, you made me hit you.

Lady people aren't peoples???

Have you ever spent a week on an island, alone with a ladybug and a bottle of single malt? You can learn some things that way.

I've already learned it. Blended Scotch is better than the famous single malt and the best blended Scotch I've ever had is the Pinch dimple. I once bought a bottle each of two 12 year old single malts and couldn't say I really enjoyed either one.

As far as the Republicans are concerned, the Constitution protects guns, not people.
Do you recall the popular Republican song, Happiness is a Warm Gun?

In many states it is a lot easier to buy a gun than to vote.

Because Im a gun owner of both pistols and rifles, does that make me a right wing nutso?
I think you'd be surprised at how many Dems and Ind. own guns for hunting, sport, or collection.
I support the second amendment and I support gun measures that prevent wackos from getting hands on.
