It removes the ability to think independently when people vote and believe a certain way politically based on what they are told to think by a union, church or otherwise. And that inability leads to people who are unwilling to compromise for the good of the people they supposedly represent.

What a talented man. Imagine how much more he would have accomplished, if he hadn't spent 90% of his time fending off faux outrage from media Republicans who were having affairs themselves. When the media ran an article against him, his poll numbers went up. When they laid off, his numbers returned to his average. It was hilarious watching the tiny minds try to destroy him right from the start of his term. He just kept ignoring the stupid media for 8 years.

Political parties are a scam to prevent individuals from coming into power. Our 2 party system relegates citizens to either throwing away their vote in protest or voting for what they perceive as the lesser of 2 evils. It will remain that way until we have a violent revolution, or until everyone gets together and votes for the same individual through a write-in ballot (which would in effect be a bloodless revolution).

It's not an insult at all. It's just that I'm a Republican as much as I'm a Phoenix Suns' fan. It's a team I root for when they play teams that need to lose to help the Blazers.

Here's something that threatens freedom. A state may lie that it has legalized alcohol, while setting up zones in which it outlaws any strong stuff. Is Washington State really wet, or Prohibitionist? How many states are lying like Washington?

There are mandatory Alcohol Impact Areas in Seattle, Spokane and Tacoma. Vancouver has been successful with a voluntary ban.

That is a fuckton of money. And that's not counting the Superpacs. Romney had a single donor of one Superpac (the Israeli casino owner dude) pitch in $40 mil alone. Each guy may have raised another hundred mil just from Superpacs. Last month.

On the plus side, when there's that much money sweeping in from all sides, how much influence does any group really have? When you are in a Mexican standoff with pistols, and then suddenly all your friends hand you bazookas and all their friends hand them bazookas, do any of the friends really gain that much net power for escalating the situation?

Maybe the Supreme Court was right all along, and the key is to put a stupid unlimited amount of dough into the whole thing, and watch it all get wasted on pointless tv ads that nobody watches. Bazookas for everybody!
