Some Are Already Calling Ohio For Romney?

Chris Matthews was just on whining about vote suppression in Ohio for democratic voters, and exit polls point to a Romney win already. Even claimed that white vans are driving around with "If you haven't voted yet, come here", and then the van (apparently evil Republicans) drives the voters away and puts them in a field or something. LOL

That guy is batshit insane.

Wow ... I don't believe it, but I sure don't sense any confidence on MSNBC right now. :dunno:

Re: Some Are Already Calling Ohio For Romney?

Of course, exit polls now show the following.

R: NC, FL
O: OH, NH, PA, MI, NV
TOSS UP: VA, CO, IA

Gonna be a long night!

Hey, where did you drudge-up those stats?! ;)

Re: Some Are Already Calling Ohio For Romney?

The exit polls provide the first indication of who will win the election, but those results will be under tight lock down until 5 p.m. The exit poll analysts are literally quarantined in a room and restricted from phone and computer use until that magic hour when the second wave of exit poll data will be released. And then, the feast begins.

Don't know if they are talking 5 EST or PST

5 EST. Still, early exit polls are basically worthless, since many people still vote after work, and these aren't giving any margins. In 2004, John Kerry was +18 in the first exit polls, yet lost the state, so they probably aren't the most accurate indicator.

Turn out is a good model, and word is GOP counties in Ohio are swarming with voters today.

Re: Some Are Already Calling Ohio For Romney?

Early exit poll:

Sixty percent of voters who cast ballots on Election Day or earlier say the economy is the most important issue in their vote, according to an early CBS News exit poll.

In CBS News/New York Times poll of likely voters taken shortly before the election, Mitt Romney had the edge over President Obama on the question of which candidate would do a better job handling the economy, 51 percent to 45 percent.

Re: Some Are Already Calling Ohio For Romney?

New Hampshire: Obama 65.1% Romney 32.6% . . . . . . . . with 1% reporting in :)

Re: Some Are Already Calling Ohio For Romney?

Intersting:

Early exit polls released on Tuesday evening show that about half of voters still blame President George W. Bush more than President Barack Obama for the country’s economic problems and most cite the economy as their top issue in the election.

The exit poll results released by The Associated Press fit with the argument Obama’s team has been making in the lead-up to the election.

Re: Some Are Already Calling Ohio For Romney?

Exit poll:

4 out of 10 say Obama's response to the super storm affected their vote

Re: Some Are Already Calling Ohio For Romney?

OH moved to "toss up" now on exit polling.

"Kenneth, what is the frequency?"

Re: Some Are Already Calling Ohio For Romney?

That's why I think Obama wins. He got his Presidential street cred back thanks to Sandy.

In the end, I think it is going to be all about the economy....

Re: Some Are Already Calling Ohio For Romney?

right, but like he asked 10 people? and thats news?

Yeah, that whole thing was kinda vague. Like, 4 out of every 10 people interviewed (implying more than 10 were questioned), or just 4 out a total of 10 people randomly questioned.

Re: Some Are Already Calling Ohio For Romney?

Just to muck things up, I also found this:

The economy remains the overwhelming top issue for most voters — both in national exit polling and in the nine swing state exit polls that The Washington Post subscribes to.

For all of the talk of the electorate swinging in the race’s final days — perhaps as a result of Hurricane Sandy and Obama’s handling of it — approximately seven in 10 voters said they made their mind up about a candidate before September.

What's with just polling 10 people? :)
