>>> I got it. Sum it up. You don't give a shit what the Constitutions says, you reject it.
I find that un-American. That is the basis for Uniting the many States and you disrespect it.

>>> The classic display from the elitist liberal that wants to show disdain for the Constitution. I seems humorous to me that this also shows the lack of historical knowledge that all of these
ills you use, to trash the foundation of America, were not invented by the founders. But they have been corrected in the Constitution by constitutional procedures that you don't even recognize.

I think you make the case yourself, very well indeed, you don't give a shit what the Constitution says. That leaves little room for a discussion with a logical American.
The Constitution is the Law as it stands. Adjust your emotions to that reality.
Boy do your reading comprehension skills suck. Either that or you are being intentionally obtuse. I suspect it's both. So when times and situations change (as they have over the centuries) lets amend the constitution for logical reasons (as we have numerous times over the centuries) and move on. That is all @riverman was suggesting. But it's good to know we have a constitutional scholar like you in our midst. It fuels your condescension. Your mama must be proud.......

bullshit....I'm saying history evolves and so does the rule of law....I love the Constitution and my country but to pretend that 1776 mindsets covers 2017 society in America is just shallow thinking....I live in a state that wasn't part of America when the constitution was adapted...you can deny that the founding fathers wanted a segregated paternal society where power was centralized around expat Europeans with means and excluded indigenous people, Africans, women and poorer European immigrants like the irish and Italians of the day...but that's history. Doesn't make me disrespectful of my country.....I dunno Marz...maybe you hate suffragettes as much as you do my questioning how the laws are being applied

Why doesn't your logic apply to the 1st amendment?

Why doesn't your logic apply to the 1st amendment?
The first amendment applies to my logic....I'm not anti grievance, religious belief, public assembly, etc....nor am I for journalistic oppression so I don't get your bait here.

Ha! I had to look that shit up for myself:

I'm assuming that the ammunition is all but impossible to get.

Progress hasn't stopped

And neither has violence, despite how many countless laws we've passed.

when the Constitution was written

when the Constitution was written, those kids had no rights at all....

An often used phrase, When the Constitution was written!

The last amendment to the Constitution was written and ratified in 1971. The last amendment ratified was completed in 1992. So this is when the Constitution as it stands was completed.
The statement about the kids is wrong and show a lack of comprehension.

Not sure why the amendment process has not been use in years now, since the left seems to have so many gripes. Well actually I fear I might know, and the result isn't going to be good.

I don't want to live in a country where this becomes a reality. Sooner or later, anti-gun folks are going to have to draw the line somewhere.

<<< I agree whole heartedly.

That is all @riverman was suggesting.
>>>Great! I would be happy to find I am wrong in this case.

But it's good to know we have a constitutional scholar like you in our midst.
>>>Thank you.

nonsense....a six gun repeater is hardly an AK47 or a machine gun or a flame thrower or a nuclear bomb.....we can wipe out entire cities with one of those puppies....the guy who invented the machine gun in Spain was executed for crimes against humanity...they claimed it took the honor out of combat...now having any maladjusted angry person able to carry a gun that will shoot dozens of rounds in a second is a different ballgame...sporting rifles are repeaters...I've owned several....they are not assault rifles .....I'm not anti gun...I'm anti gun violence and don't see handguns or assault weapons as keeping the public safe ever...on the same line I don't want people building bombs or mixing up chemical weapons in their basement....when the Constitution was written they didn't say you could not make bombs or nerve gas or own a flame thrower, etc.....assault weapons fit that category to me.

So much misinformation and utter nonsense screams for a primer on the actual lengthy history of repeating weaponry which has been traced back to the 4th Century BC:

Well said. Like I said earlier: the Zeppelins were once considered "Weapons of Mass Destruction" by the British. And crossbows made of wood were once considered instruments of terror that were used by the Chinese and British armies. King Richard restricted their use to his select guardsmen and soldiers.

Funny how such similarities exist today, huh?

Today's AR-15s will be tomorrow's relics soon enough.

you are correct...I mistook another weapon in Spain but a British inventor is actually credited with the machine gun....I believe I misspoke about the Spanish incident and mixed it up with a historical novel I read about Spain....memory failed me....repeating weaponry has existed long before the assault rifle we commonly deal with now....I referenced sporting rifles and compared them to assault weapons...

We don't deal with "Assault Weapons" here. The closest thing to that would be the M-16. I would have thought that someone who was in the Military such as yourself would know this.

I guess River doesn't agree with you Cliffy. He continues to speak of the Constitution unamended in 230 years and offers nothing to suggest I am wrong, as I would like.
I would love to see the left offer an amendment to the Constitution, to replace the 2ND amendment that they think is reasonable enough to get ratified.

I don't know where you dig this up at....I never ever spoke of an unamended constitution and said progress is still happening....anyway...I've decided to move on and enjoy the joy there is in life...peace takes practice

That's like a 12 pounder cannon shooting a ball 3000 feet per second
Sounds close to the gun on the MIA Abrahams.

I doubt the 500 lb jack bolted to the hood of a Jeep is safe in an accident. 500 lbs may seem like a fib until it goes flying through your windshield in a collision.

Do the math on 500 lb x 50 miles per hour or 73 feet/sec.
Oh my!

I didn't even know what the hell it was. I assumed it was a bracket to hold a snowboard in place. Or something.
