That fan who collapsed last night passed away at the hospital.

RIP

A woman who collapsed at the Portland Trail Blazer game Thursday died at Legacy Emanuel Hospital, the Multnomah Count Medical Examiner's Office said.

Lindsay Fitzsimmons, a deputy medical examiner, said the woman was 67 years old. The case was reported to the medical examiner's office because the woman died less than 24 hours after entering the hospital.

The woman's name was not immediately available.

The woman collapsed Thursday night during the Blazers vs Mavericks game at the Moda Center. The game was delayed during the 4th quarter while fans and rescue personnel went to the woman's aid.

She was taken from the arena across the playing floor during the nationally televised game.

The incident happened in section 111. A witness who sat nearby said the woman's body appeared to go "totally limp." Emergency medical technicians quickly went into the stands and administered CPR after they laid her down over several seats.

Awful. Still, credit to the fans and EMTs who worked so valiantly to try and save her, that was a massive effort.

I got an update on my phone from OregonLive, but I can't find the article. I'll post it if I can find it.

Very sad. I hope they have a moment of silence at the next home game.

I dont mean this to be rude in any way shape or form it was just a thought that I had. When my time comes I wouldnt want to pass away in public like that but watching a great Blazers game at home that we are winning wouldnt be so bad.

Thoughts and prayers to her family. The players were pretty shook up about it last night, we definitely have a good group of guys.

I know the players were genuinely concerned. This is just terrible. Thoughts going out to her family for sure.

RIP, my thoughts go out to her family and friends.

Yes, and the speed that EMTs were there to help her, and then take her to the hospital I hear was very quick. I imagine unless she was in a hospital when she collapsed, her time had come.

dang dude. my thoughts to the family. that is so hard.

Such a sad, sad story. This is too bad. What's interesting is that there was no mention atleast with what I saw or heard of her being with anyone...

RIP. And if you read or post in here. I'm sorry for your loss.

You know--I don't find this rude or in bad taste at all. That's actually an interesting point, IMO.

The reaction of the players to this made an impression on me. They are trained how to talk to the press, so most of what they say isn't interesting or genuine, but this was an unexpected event and so I suspect that the concern on their faces was real. Athletes are so often self-absorbed pricks and it's nice to see evidence that it isn't always so.

From the comments on Oregonlive, sounds like she was with her husband.

Yeah. Even that prick "parsons" looked almost like he was going to cry.

Very sorry to hear.

I had the TV on mute and had no clue what was going on when all these concerned faces showed up.

Especially had to have hit hard for Nic-- the look on his face was brutal.

Feel sad for this woman and her family. Would have been tough to actually see someone keel over and die.

I hope her family can keep their privacy. Certainly a sad event but I hope media doesnt release names and stuff if thats not what the family wants.

Im glad at least as a fan she died doing something she enjoyed. And we were playing a heck of a game, at least her final moments were happy

Its very sad to hear of this. I was very concerned with how the event was described that it was something life threatening. Sounds like everything was handled as well as could have been hoped but in the end it was just her time.

Yeah most people don't have ems just a few seconds away. If they couldn't save her, I don't think there's much anyone could have done, unless she was already in a hospital.

How quickly fans helped carry her down to the court was pretty impressive, just a sad day when something like this happens.

It goes to show how caring we are as humans. When someone is in need, we usually help them no matter what. It's really a beautiful thing.

Attaboy Aldridge!!!!

LaMarcus Aldridge:

"It's very sad to hear. I said a prayer for her during the game, and I definitely said a prayer for her last night. I was hoping that she would pull through. That's never something that we want to see or to experience.

"I didn't know how to recover from it. I'm glad I wasn't in the game, because I was kind of shook after the fact, just to see that type of scene going on on the court, I've just never seen that before.

"I'm sure myself and the Trail Blazers will do something on our end to try to give back or to help. She was a season ticket holder, so I'm sure this organization will do something to try to help."

I do hope the Blazers do something nice for this season ticket holder.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that was thinking this. She was a STH, and we are all going to die some day. We could all be so lucky passing away doing something we love, even if it is way too soon.

Thoughts and prayers to her family in this difficult time.

Sad news indeed. Sorry for their loss :\
