Did you read my idea above? If you want to help us determine signing odds as an outside source it'd be appreciated.

I did. A couple suggestions. Get an outside "commissioner" or a panel of "commissioners (odd number for tie breakers") as having two people involved in their own teams making decisions for other posters teams leads to possible problems. You and HJ can be the conduit and pass on the info to the commissioner to arbitrate. I would also suggest waiting till after July 1st like real free agency and maybe even delaying it till say July 14th and then a more realistic situation such as a player agreeing to sign, re-signing or a player opting in with his existing team may occur and that way the player is making a decision as opposed to others involved in the dealings. After July 14th then free agency is open for any player and team to submit their proposal. Team salaries obviously would need to be adjusted accordingly as a team signs a free agent.

I had thought about suggesting we do our own draft, and draft day trades, and then wait until after Free Agency to continue the problem is that all those draft day trades we might do could Change our cap situations.

So instead I we just have an a free agent representative who decides which pitch he likes the best.

Well in real life, trades are always available when dealing in free agency and building a team. Part of being a GM is weighing the possibility of going after a free agent when it is open or doing a trade before hand that might take a team out of a possibility for a free agent. Do you want what's behind door number one or door number two? That's the way it works in the real NBA and I would think you would want to emulate the real thing as much as possible. Tough decisions will need to be made.

What he is saying is this:

I did one of these on Blazersedge last year and the Clippers traded for Paul George and some really good pieces while keeping most of their nucleus in tact. So much so that I would find it hard to believe that Chris Paul would've left that situation. If we go by real life though he wanted out. That wouldn't be fair to whoever the Clippers GM is.

That makes no sense, since the free agent signings in our mock off-season will be dependent on hypothetical draft picks and trades that are different from reality, so there's no point to wait until even after the draft. It's a simulation, essentially, so it won't align with what actually happens.

If there were people interested in being an outsider commissioner, it'd be great, and the best system possible. However, I'm not sure anyone wants to.

Because free agency can';t really be done in a simulated team situation like you guys are doing it makes it more realistic by waiting. Otherwise how do you determine if LeBron would accept a max deal from Sac or a smaller deal from the Lakers? If you go by best offer, then he needs to go to Sacramento, but if you wait for about a week after free agency then it can be determined what the player is actually willing to accept and the simulated GM will have to accept the deal.

Hey it's your guys game so do as you please. Just trying to help you guys avoid conflicts that I see arising from this.

Who said best offer? That would be stupid.

I only mentioned it as a possibility as you haven't put forth any rules yet for free agency. Like I said, it's your game so do as you please and hopefully everyone will agree.

I’m agreeable with whatever as long as were all playing with the same rules, which I’m sure we will be.

I still like setting odds for each free agent offer.

If you had enough people to run teams, I'd volunteer to be the impartial commish

He's obviously going to Philly.

Team ready to compete. They can add 2 max players. They play in the east so it's easier for him to get to the finals
The smartest spot imo but for some reason I think he will be dumb.

Lebron meeting with 4 teams according to report

Warriors, Rockets, Celtics, Sixers

Sixers all the way

Warriors hell no...silver better shut that shit down. They don't need Bron too. Jesus. They'd never lose a game. 82-0 season.

Jesus. If you can't beat em, join em

It better not happen. We already have a team usa

So we have 13 people.. @PtldPlatypus offered to be our Adam Silver instead of Mitch Kupchak. We could have 12 GMs with the 6 people who will be most active owning 3 teams and the other 6 people owning two. We could use my free agency idea and had Platy set odds for each deal for a free agent and then using random.org to select the free agents destination. He could also check trades with the CBA since he's very well-versed in it.

@hoopsjock what do you think?

Hey, sorry for the delayed response. It sounds fun, but I'm sure I won't have the time to truly do it justice. Maybe in a future year.

I like every part of that but doing 3 teams. It's way too involved for that. I think we either need two more people or not do it.
