Hell with the 60s 70s & 80s, Tell us what you did in the 50s, 40s & 30s grandpa.

LMAO, good one old buddy, you one upped me. It's a true treat to be able to chat with you all these years Rick, Your a Unique Individual, a good man, friend, and one helluva long time Yankee Fan; and Old NY Giants Fan too.

1- 1930s: Great Depression, I was cooking in a soup Kitchen; when I wasn't teaching Joe DiMaggio how to hit...!

2-Entered WWII in the 40s, got a job with the USAF, and I was indeed the one riding that Nuke down like a Cowboy into Hiroshima, the rest is kinda foggy......

3-50s, true pure JOY, in all aspects of Life, IMO, the True Golden Years of our Nation, the 50s, and Baby Boomers. Hell everyone who wanted a job, got one, and most were decent paying.

Yet, I was still a kid in those 50s, yet my Grandpa's, made damn good and sure, I grew up a Yankee Fan, and taught me there were only 2 Teams in all of Baseball......the Yanx, and NY Giants......this is still true right???

I loved this guy. His attitude and love for the game made me
take notice when I was younger. Ernie Banks knew how to play
the game very well, but no one loved playing the game better.
I'd give anything to have him on my team instead of the likes
of an Alex Rodriguez.

Also, as a salute to Ernie, MLB should designate a Double
Header Day one Sunday during the summer.

I doubt MLB does it because greed pervades the sport today.

Indeed Ernie Banks and Willie Mays both struck me as true lovers of the sport...and no one came as close to them, in their era. Well Mick sure did, yet, when he blew his knees, and ankles out, and drank his pains away, that kinda' sorta' did in Mick as far as speed defensively in the OF.

I'd love nothing more than on Opening Day, to see MLB have at least one of those 3 Opening Day games on TV, play a Double header, Hell let the entire MLB start out with a doubleheader, tho' it may be a bit to much on Opening Day, yet it separates the Men from the Boys.

"It's a good day, so lets play two"...! Let's turn 2 every time a runner gets on 1st base....!

Willie Mays: "I can't believe they pay me, to play the game I love the most....!

these 2 were Giants in the History of MLB, for their loving motivation to perform at levels way beyond the norm...!

Yes, Jeter IS another class act, who I wouldn't mind mentioning in the same sentence with Banks and Mays....maybe another ERA, but all 3 are/were Class Acts to the Hilts....!!!
