About a decade ago, Dikembe's father was getting treatment at the same dialysis center as my grandmother in Atlanta. One day when she was too weak to walk to her car, he was kind enough to offer to carry her to it. He was a truly kind man and an Atlanta legend. RIP Dikembe

RIP..brain cancer is a horrible way to go...my step grandfather died that way and it was the worst...end of suffering and gone too soon!

It sure seems like it is on the rise. I have lost a lot of friends lately to it.

RIP Dikembe, you were a great person who did a lot for people outside of just basketball.

One of the most consequential human beings to ever play basketball. The hospital he founded in the Congo has served hundreds of thousands of people.

Players like to talk about their "brand" while he was out there making a difference. What a legacy.

He's in my top 5 of favourite players. I was at the arena the day he left the game with his last injury as a Rocket against our Blazers when he was 42.

Somewhere up there in heaven someone is sexing Mutombo.
