I know you're using a sarcastic/ironic coloring to your font, but it obviously does. And baseball was segregated previously which, while not cheating, is another type of illegitimacy. People treating steroids like some completely outrageous era effect that's entirely different from anything else that's affected players and statistics is silly, IMO.

The best anecdote I heard yesterday in various tributes to gentleman Hammering Hank was about his fandom for the Cleveland Browns. For decades he'd fly to Cleveland for the weekend, put on bulky warm clothes plus a dog mask & go bark in the "dog pound" shoulder to shoulder in the bleachers with other Browns fans. What say you Sly?

I watched it, too. I had his cards in 1958 and treated them just like any other rising star. Lost them in toss-down games. The gum was the best gum around.
