Great player great guy. Always seemed to be amiable with a sunny personality....sunny?... Let's play two!

I can still remember being so impressed as a kid looking at the back of his baseball card with those big numbers as a SS.
Two MVPs playing for a last place team speaks volumes about his ability, dedication and love for the game.

And he followed up those back to back MVPs with a 41 HR season & 117 RBI. Unfortunately in 1960 MLB was still in the mold of giving the MVP to players that are playing the WS. So in 1960 the MVP went to Dick Groat of the Pirates who only had 2 HRs with 50 RBI but battered 325.
