RJ: Kidd should have defended Wade more

Lawrence Frank might not want to read Richard Jefferson's latest blog on NBA.com.

The Nets guard suggested yesterday that the Nets should have put Jason Kidd on Miami's Dwyane Wade earlier than Game 5, when Kidd helped hold Wade to 21 points in the Nets' series-ending defeat.

"Dwyane Wade is very good, but I think we could have done some things differently," Jefferson said in the blog. "We have a first team All-Defensive player in Jason Kidd, but we didn't have him guarding Wade to start off games. The most competitive game was when we had J-Kidd guarding Wade."</div>

I agree but it doesn't matter now.

It didn't really matter who gaurded Wade. Kidd got burned but besides that, Wade was just dominating, though I realized something about Wade that takes away my respect for him. His entire cross over is a carry. He palms the ball from one spot to another really quickly. Sure the officials won't call it, but it's the reason why defenders get clowned. It's kinda sad.

It really is a carry...when he drives. When he takes his pull back jumper its not.

Maybe not every, but probably a good 50% of the time. It's getting really ugly, pre-2000 Iverson ugly.

Who was usually guarding him? RJ? I only watched a couple of games and didn't really check who was.

Carter sometimes, Jefferson more than 1/2 the time, Kidd the rest of the time.
