Milwaukee also sends lottery protected 1st rounder...Why do this trade? Villanueva is talented and can be a big time player, Simmons is a solid role player and the first helps us to prepare for rebuliding for Brooklyn the Goal being to be the best possible team in 2010.

hey, i proposed that deal a year ago on BBB.

anyways, keep RJ and trade our backcourt.

Has Bobby Simmons even reported to the Bucks the past 4 games?

Great Minds....

Trading a player when he can maximize their value isn't a Thorn strong suit and that trade doesn't come close to getting maximum value for RJ

If you are selling high, that's not enough for RJ.

It doesn't matter anyway because selling high goes against everything Rod Thorn stands for.

Bobby Simmons is just coming off an injury, last I read.

That's not so bad. Yahoo Sports said he's been out for undisclosed personal reasons. That's why it raised a red flag with me.

You are both correct. Simmons was injured and missed last season and he just returned on Wednesday to the team from a personal leave

Actually in Real Estate you buy low and then you want to sell high thats how you make money...if you never sell than you never make money.

Listen I love RJ...but he's not that great, and at 27 he's probably to old to be a part of our nucleus in Brooklyn. This trade is based on the idea of blowing the whole thing up I.E. KIDD and VINCE as well. Bobby Simmons has LOW value right now...Villanueva is only going to get better and a first rounder next year adds flexibilty.

RJ is a solid player borderline allstar at 27...he's only going to get worse. I say rebuild.

Wait. Couldn't we get better than Villa & BS for RJ playing at an all-star level?

He's 10th in the voting for SF in the Eastern conference...that's not a knock on RJ but the reality is that SF is the easiest position to find players for in the game. A lot of teams have all star capable SF some have two, I love RJ and he is a really good small forward but he's not that valuable if you really consider how deep that postion is in this league.

Ok while I still believe that the offer was fair and benificial for both sides, I will concede maybe RJ is a little more valuable than what I presented so in turn I did my time on realgm and really looked for a team which 1)could use a small forward 2)was in a win now mode and 3)had young talent

I found my trade partner in the form of the Miami Heat.

OK we get an expiring contract in Davis, filler in smush, and two young players in Wright and Cook who could be cornerstones in are franchise a few years from now and when paired with Marcus, Swat, Boone and Nenad is a promising young nucleus.

Miami gets a backup PG in Armstrong, A servicable bigman in Allen but most importantly a near allstar player to go alongside wade which would give them a big three to compete with Boston in the playoffs this season.

Ok...thoughts?
