I missed measles vaccine by weeks. My older sister had a mild case.

I was in bed a month. Later, my parents told me the doctor gave me a 50/50 chance of survival. I had a high fever, rash from head to toe, and internal inflammation in gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract, and vagina. I was five years old. I know early childhood memories can get blurry but some things are clear. My mother sitting by my bed, trying to give me tea and soup from a spoon, trying to coax another spoonful into me, and me crying because it hurt so much to swallow. I was old enough to go to the toilet on my own, but was so weak from fever she had to walk me there. I remember sitting on the toilet holding my mother's hands and crying because it hurt so much to urinate.

I've had lifelong health issues as a consequence.

That is the torture these assholes want to subject children to.

The door to my room had to be locked to keep my one-year-old brother out, since quarantine was the only way to prevent contagion. I was still in bed recuperating when the vaccine was approved, and my parents took him straight to the doctor for vaccine. He probably cried when stuck with the needle, since that is what one-year-olds do, but he never got measles.

When I had the measles, our house was quarantined. I was in bed and received regular visits from our family doctor. I was out of it with delirium. Don't know how long I was out but I do remember that I was about eight years old. I had the mumps when I was about six years old.
Now, I've had a series of two measles shots, the second being a booster which they tell me will be good for life. All of it paid by the VA. About two weeks ago they just have me a Hepatitis booster shot.

I just keep my kids caught up on their vaccines... Sure I want to question what my kids put in their bodies and I always ask about the shots and all that, but the proof says there are plenty of things a shot can keep stop... Why would I want my kids to be sick, or worse...

I have some huge personal trust issues with Doctors, like to the point I’d almost rather die with the cold... However, I have kids and we have technology and medical science has advanced a long ways, I cant let my issues hurt my kids. Also means I have to go to the doctor sometimes even if I don't want to.

Do you go to the doctor so you can be healthy to better care for your kids or do you go to the doctor to set a good example for your kids?
