Pro Bowler Ryan Shafer says this better than I can

It seems counterintuitive to take one’s own life, no question. But one must realize the person we knew is not present any longer. And the medications they are taking to help fight these horrible disease can also directly affect their behaviors too. It’s very sad that my wife did not respond to help. She fought it all the way. She knew she was in trouble but she had a hard time accepting therapy and treatment. Some might say “well she didn’t want help and took the cowardly way out” but I go over it in my head every day and wonder what I could have done differently, but ultimately – she made a decision.

“Be Kind.
For Everyone You Meet Is Fighting A
Battle You Know Nothing About.”

You started poasting here last November. I got pimples on my ass cheeks older than you. Don't try and decide whats ban-worthy and whats not.

K, son?

Last I checked you don't run shit here other than your mouth.

It seems like Fonz was the one who overreacted in this thread, not PapaG.

Multiple posters have said the same things as PapaG now

People who have dealt with people close to them committing suicide, and their opinion on it is pretty much the same as the opinion expressed by PapaG.

As always, the management here on S2 is pretty bad, and a poster was once banned again for it. A lot of posters banned/suspended these days which was unheard of 3-4 years ago.

Feels like Steve Patterson and John Nash are running this place honestly
"Honestly," lol...

Not sure if this was mentioned before but I just hear on the news that he had Parkinson. His drug problem was in check.

The Survivors is one of my all-time favorites.

"I'm terribly, terribly, terribly, terribly unable to help you..."

Rush already said Robin Williams killed himself because he was a liberal. Anti women's rights groups said he killed himself because his girlfriend had an abortion back in the 1970s when they were both too young and unsettled to be parents. Some people think everything is about them. It's about Robin Williams.

As I said, haters will hate. Sad his daughter had to deal with so much shit.

Haha. How funny. ^^^ You should take that advice, and also realize how pathetic passive aggressive bumper sticker/t shirt clichés are when used in your signature.

Robin Williams suicide was right around the time the girl in Utah got run over by her sister in her driveway. That was by far a sadder story than an old man killing himself. It is just a symptom of the celebrity nut huggers we are as a society.

I am all for a discussion about depression, but many people don't really care except that he was famous.

This part I certainly agree with. People really beat their chests in grief whenever someone famous dies and Facebook explodes with (incredibly superficial) posts about "awareness" and then it's all forgotten until the next celebrity death. Much sadder stories, including ones that deal with depression, take place that no one but the families/friends care about.
