Nets president Rod Thorn plays a basketball executive and Tim Walsh a trainer in "Just Wright", a film starring Queen Latifah that premiered Tuesday night in New York and opens May 14.
The movie is about an All-Star on the Nets who injures his knee and is rehabbing to return. It features Dwyane Wade and Dwight Howard but is more of a date movie than basketball flick as physical therapist Leslie Wright, played by Queen Latifah, falls in love with injured Net Scott McKnight, portrayed by the rapper Common.
In one scene, Thorn is sitting in the stands with his son Jonathan and Ramsey resident Leo Ehrline, a Nets senior vice president on the sales and marketing side. They’re playing Nets executives and watching McKnight practice after the knee injury.
Thorn, who wears his emotions on his face during real Nets games, had his game face on when he talked about the team needing McKnight back.
