Olshey makes a ton of trades. What are you missing? Lopez, Connaughton, Plumlee, Layman, Collins, Nurkic, Harkless, Afflalo, Vonleh, Hood all acquired via trade off the top of my head. What am I missing?
You're missing a needle-moving trade that required any skill, that you or I couldn't have made. Trading 2 2nd-round picks for one isn't a real trade.

No offense but your site still shows that we have Miami's 2021 2nd so I am going to choose not to "master" a site that doesn't even have the correct information.
I'm sure I could find discrepancies in your unnamed site, whatever it is. The point is, you should add this site to your repertoire of information so you can compare when you need to. Do you read only one source for your non-sports news?

Stotts says Hood will be worked into the rotation ASAP, but wouldn't comment on whose minutes would be reduced, just that "those minutes will come from somebody".

Stotts was also seen laughing maniacally, like Christopher Lee's Dracula and shouting "Turtle Soup! Turtle Soup! Tonight I dine on Turtle Soup!"

Nobody on the Blazer's staff knew what he was referring too.

In other words - Jake.

Hark and Aminu are like 2 broken crutches that Stotts clings to with the tenacity of a limpet on bath salts - and with about as much rational thought. My first reaction to the deal was that it was a minor positive. The more I think about it, the more I suspect Olshey just handed Stotts another excuse to drive the bus into a ditch while giving himself an excuse to take the rest of the season off.

Jake is too good to get DNPs still. I wonder if he and/or Harkless can get minutes at PF. That would push Meyers/Zach out of rotation. Let's see if Neil can do anything else to clear out this clutter.

I also wonder how hurt Moe really is.

Someone else mentioned the idea of starting Layman and having Moe play the four with the second unit. Meyers takes a seat in that scenario. I’m all for it.

All players have flaws, especially those who don't have a bad contract, but can still be obtained for a pair of 2nd rounders. It's certainly not a risk-free move, and your pointing to his playoff stats is definitely a concern. However,
1) This was a very low-risk move
2) Shooters tend to thrive in Stotts system.
3) You can't ruin the playoff chances of a team that was swept as the 3rd seed....

Low risk? Sure. But when I see people state he could replace CJ, I'm wondering if theyve seen Hood play. He's a horrible player.

I think he's more of a Turner replacement. He is iso heavy and has that midrange game. Wonder if ET is on the move.
Hope not, unless they plan to move CJ to the second unit. Hood is a very poor playmaker, something Turner really adds to a team in need.

agree, Turner is a ball play maker. Hood will take Mo's minutes.

Great trade! A rated.
No it didn't include a superstar, but asset for asset it help us and make our team better.

#1 Added a rotation player from 2 non-rotation players & picks which probably wouldn't make the team.
#2 Created an open roster spot for potential of bringing back more players than sending out in *possible deal before Thursday noon.
#3 Added some insurance to Moe's knees, Jake's nerves, and the possibility of sending CJ or ET in larger trade for AD, BG or KL.

Leonard has also played too well this year to be out of the rotation. And Zach is purportedly the future of the franchise, so I don't see him sitting down.

Whoever loses minutes, there's going to be a complaint. Unless it's Turner; then we'll all celebrate.

In 11 games vs POR, he has averaged: 14 pts, 3 rebs, 2.5 asts on 41% FG, 27% from 3 in 25 mpg. That's about a decent bench player. Shooting is terrible.

Portland, where they play defense that makes even the most mediocre players less mediocre!

I always saw him as an inconsistent 1-dimensional volume shooter. But the Stotts system makes simple shooters look like all-stars, so I expect Hood to impress here like a 2019-20 Layman.

This was Dame a few weeks ago:

“Because at the end of the day, I know in my heart I want to win. I want to win a championship for this city, but I’m not willing to put somebody under the bus to do it. That means more to me than saying ‘I won a championship!’ but now this guy has been traded to a bad situation, and now his team don’t like him as much and he might be out of the league in a year. I’m not going to have that. I’m not going to have that on me.”

Could be the case for both Wade and Nik.

Another guy Hood should replace before Layman is Curry. Numbers suggest Hood is the better offensive player. Curry grades out better defensively but he’s nothing great either, and I wonder how Hood would do guarding smaller players.

Hood
Turner
Layman
Collins
Leonard

A trade is still the best option though because minutes would still be an issue.

Dame didn't make the trade. And it could be argued that both Nik and Wade will get more of an opportunity on the Cavs.

So it seems weird to me that nobody has mentioned the Stauskas "Sore Knee" issue. Nurk just sat with the same thing. Just makes me wonder? Lillard sat out also but i figure that was just rest. Really looks now like they were purposely not playing Nik.

Great point. I also wonder if Nik asked out after getting beat out by Layman.

Bartelstein is his agent fwiw.

Not all. Turner has been a key part of our second unit and we don't have any other true back up point guard. His play in the month of January has been very solid.

He wasn’t in the rotation so I don’t see why they would’ve had to come up with another reason to not play him.

He was listed as out for a number of games. Not just out of the rotation. He was in street clothes. Makes me believe this trade was well in the works for a while.

But Baldwin wasn’t, so...

Non-sports news? There is something other than sports?

Hood played 30 minutes Saturday night for Cleveland.... Your theory here doesn't hold water.
