My son and I were discussing the Rodney Hood trade, and trying to determine where he fits into the Blazer rotation. I checked out Basketball-Reference.com and looked at the section that shows how often they play each position. Hood has been primarily (65%) playing SF for Cleveland.
Here's how I see the depth chart. It includes the percentage of their plays that each player played in the respective position -

Unless there are additional trades, I'm guessing Hood will fight for that starting SF position. He's not going to beat out McCollum at the SG position, and Turner's ball handling at the backup SG is critical to drive that second unit. Most likely Hood will take away minutes from Harkless (injury dependent), and primarily Layman (unfortunately).
With the tightening of the rotations as we get closer to the playoffs, I think we're going to see the Blazers move to the 8-9 man rotation. Curry and Layman might be the odd men out.
I'm rooting for Layman as much as the next fan, but at the same time, I'd love to see Hood step in and perform at the level we saw him at in Utah (16.8ppg, 38.9% 3pt).
