Nels Cline (Wilco) : The Avant Romantic

Warren Haynes (The Allman Brother Band and Gov’t Mule) : Blues-Rock Road Warrior

Jim James & Carl Broemel (My Morning Jacket) : Skynard-Art Theorists

Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave) : Iron Man Of Hip-Hop Guitar

Matt Pike (Sleep and High on Fire) : Stoner Metal Ruler

Jack White (The White Stripes and The Raconteurs) : The Crawling King Snake

They had Mayer, Trucks, and Frusciante as top three and the others just listed. Thoughts?

Isn't this old? I remember they had a feature on Trucks, Mayer, and The God (Frusciante) about a year ago.

john mayor is so gay. i can think of so many guitarists that blow him out of the water any day.

He's a good guitarist, I think it's just the choice of music that he chooses to record.

I think his most recent album, Continuum, is bringing him further away from the generic crap on his other stuff. I agree, he's a good guitarist, he just needs to find his sound. And I think he's doing that.

If you haven't heard, listen to Fall of Troy. Guy is insanely good. Kirk Hammet will always be the best. Adam Jones is sick, Tim Reynolds, the guy from Dragonforce, oh and KERRY KING from slayer. they should all be up there

Frusciante should have been first, second, and third.

Not ahead of Hammet. He, along with the rest of metallica, shaped what is any rock/metal today

Tim Reynolds was the first name that came to my mind. He does some crazy stuff on the gitter.

I've always been a big Morello fan. That "Nightwatchman" album he did was real different but I thought it showed some diversity.

your out of your mind. either you have no respect for the blues or youve never heard "Continuum" or "Try!".

im surprised Omar RL got some respect and made the list... but then again Buckethead isnt on it so the whole thing can be argued as worthless.

greatest guitarist ever: Brian may(Queen).
