No way do the Knicks trade Ntilikina. They consider him their PGotF and one of the cornerstones of their rebuilding effort.

Really? All I keep seeing is "man, the Knicks REALLY regret taking him - they took him over Smith because he'd be better for the triangle - and then Phil left and they scrapped the triangle!"

Plus a bunch of pundits picked him as the most-likely-to-be-a-bust of the top ten picks. Except for the one who picked Zach Collins.

And yet you be willing to eat Joakim Noah's hideous contract to get him?

Sure, it's not my money.

Look: if the Knicks had drafted somebody who was going to be an instant fan fave (say, DENNIS SMITH) then they wouldn't agree to trade him for the kind of stuff we're prepared to offer, even bundled with a contract they want to unload. But if Ntilikina is (a) going to take time to get good, and (b) in the meantime a painful reminder that they passed on Smith because Ntilikina was better for the triangle, they might be more willing to unload him. Meanwhile, he's exactly what we need: he's a pure PG who's big and a very good defender - somebody who could play next to either Lillard or McCollum, or replace Lillard down the road. Also, even though Noah has a horrible contract, I think he would be good to have around. He's a great lockerroom guy and also kind of a loud boisterous dude. He could add a missing component to our team. And even old and broken down he's a solid defender and a great post passer.

(It goes without saying that I don't believe the pundits. They were just picking on the foreign guys - another one picked Makkanen, clearly oblivious of how great he looked in Eurobasket competing against people much older than him.)
