My take on Brewer is that he was a key player on the Bulls' best record in the NBA teams for two years.
That he didn't play much in OKC is more about them having Thabo Sefalosha, who's a similar kind of player.
He started for Utah and scored double digits on > .500 shooting. He was moved to SF there so Wes Matthews could start at SG. Not benched, moved to SF.
He played for the Bulls on the team with the best record in the NBA and shot .480 and .427 in his two seasons, the second one he started 43 of the 66 games, and did demonstrate the ability to shoot from the outside. Beyond midrange, his outside shooting isn't something you want to count on.
He does have a decent offensive game. He is sneaky along the baseline and gets a lot of easy inside baskets. In NY, he started at SF but played just 15 MPG and shot the most 3pt shots in his career there. He's not a 3pt shooter.
As far as fitting in, I think he'd be a guy you'd bring in off the bench to play defense. I don't see how he could screw that up
