Looks like the Rooks are going to kill! How many years has it been since that happened, 7?

I like the rookies chances for the first time in a while. At least they should be able to keep it close.

No Kevin Love?

Love Aaron Brooks getting on the sophomore team. He gets into the paint at will.

3 centers on the Rookie team, basically no true center on the sophomore team. It will be interesting to see how that affects what is usually a fast break drill of a game.

Two Blazers in the game for the second straight year. I wonder if that's ever happened for another team?

EDIT:

Duh! I think I just answered my own question.

The Sonics/Thunder have had more (of course they are recycling more players than we are)

Durant and Jeff Green last year

and Now Durant, Green and Westbrook

To add to that, two players for the second straight year who aren't repeat players (e.g. Roy in '07 as a rookie and as a sophomore in '08.

You'd think teams like the Clips or Hawks who have had a steady flow of good young talent come through would have had that happen before.

Stan Love is probably hanging "fire stern" stickers all over NBA arenas. Don't assume the rooks will win, I have a feeling the sophomores will win, led by my boy Brooks with 45 points!

No Kevin Love is a surprise... I bet Stan's pissed.

By the way, has anyone seen a link for official confirmation of this? It seems legit, but I can't find it anywhere - NBA.com, ESPN.com, Yahoo.com.

???

Problem with these all star games is they are guard dominated.

The Sophs don't seem to have a legitimate center to deal with Oden, which means he might have a field day.

considering he's got a shot to win rookie of the year it's a crime.

He doesn't even start and only plays 23 mpg for a lottery team. That he didn't make it isn't a shock to me.

Ed O.

I call BS on this until I see some official announcement anywhere. Even a google search on the newswire didn't come up with anything.

Here's my attempt to be the first to use "where's the Love?"

(What's particularly weird about that, if that list is legit, is that the rookie team would have precisely ONE forward, while the Sophs would have SEVEN.)

not necessarily. lee dominated 2007, carmelo 2005, amare 2004, brand 2000, etc. oden could have a huge game putting in everybody's misses.

I guess we found out who is KP. audienorris must be KP with getting this info early.

it's not a shock that he wasn't recognized, but it's a crime that he's not there. leads all rookies in PER and rebounding, and is 4th in entire league in rebounding rate. deserves to be there way more than rudy.

Also, just saw this ...

Dwayne Wade will be assistant coach for the rookie team, and Dwight Howard assistant for the sophomores. Cool idea. I like that. They'll probably be wired.
