Rotation if we keep Brogdon

Sounds like Ayton Grant Simons Scoot are all locks to start.

Also sounds like we may consider keeping Brogdon for awhile. Could legit make a case that he's our best player today on the roster.

When I assumed Brogdon was to be traded I had thought as I did the whole summer Sharpe would come off the bench but get over 30mpg, and Thybulle start at SF. But I'm not sure that makes sense if Brogdon is also coming off the bench.

Just seems like it'll be much harder to get Sharpe and Brogdon enough minutes in that second option if both of them are coming off the bench.

But not sure I like the defense of Scoot Ant Sharpe starting, or Sharpe having to play bigger guys so often when he's only 20.

With Brogdon what do you think the rotation will be?

I assume Thybulle will start at 3 and Sharpe will play 2/3 off the bench. If there are 144 mpg between the 1-3 spots, if Scoot/Ant get 32 each, that leaves 80 to split between Brogdon/Sharpe/Thybulle--I think that's a decent amount.

That is a 3 guard rotation with each getting over 30 minutes a game. So before some of you go ape shit, this will not affect Scoot in any negative way.
He won't care if he starts off the bench. This way we will get much needed energy off the bench

Coach Billups likes consistency with rotations. Tight 8-9 man groupings. He's not a 5 + 5 coach. I'd like to see Skylar Mays get good minutes in the rotation, but that would shave PT from Anfernee.

It is an extra fun not compelled to win Blazer season. The pressure to rack up W's is on temporary pause. Coach Billups might throw the kitchen sink on the court. I wouldn't be surprised if we see 12-14 Blazers all receive double digit PT. There might be contests where the scoreboard dictates bench minutes. Down by 20+ by the 4th ?? Starters take a break, clear the bench. Knox/Walker/Murray/Sharpe play the entire final quarter.

I don't see Scoot and Ant being a good pairing. Better than Dame and Ant, maybe, but not great. Ant is best as a lead guard.

I am in a small minority, but I don't think Scoot should start... yet. I'm fine with hm coming off the bench and going crazy.

That's how I see it too, at least to start. Brogdon will be dealt or hurt eventually, and Scoot and Sharpe will switch off starting with Ant.

Was just having this discussion at work today. My assumption, and what makes the most "sense"

Fill in whoever at the backup 3/4. I assume Sharpe will see plenty of minutes there, and Brogdon will see some as well. I don't love not starting Sharpe, but With Scoot, Ant, Grant, and Ayton, we have scoring where it makes more sense to have defense at the 3, and have him off the bench. I don't think a Brogdson-Ant pairing makes as much sense off the bench as Brogdon-Sharpe, which is why I think it'll be Sharpe sitting to start. I think we'll finish plenty of games with Scoot-Ant-Sharpe-Grant-Ayton. And at the same times see a Ant-Brogdon-Thybulle-Grant-Ayton closing lineup. I hate playing small, but do like the flexibility in Brogdon, Sharpe and Thybulle being able to go 2/3. And love having Williams backing up Ayton.
I have zero expectations for success, but am also excited for the season to begin.

I don't think that will be the starting lineup though, but Grant, Thybulle, Ant....those are 3 pretty weak rebounders relative to the positions they are being forecast to.

I don't really get all the Thybulle love either. You can be this elite defender, but if you suck as bad at offense as what you're hoping to make the other player do, it's kind of a wash, and he's not a good rebounder for a SF.

I think people get a bit carried away with measurements, but I think the overall affect of having an undersized team matters. He was benched by team Australia. He scored 14 points TOTAL in the entire tournament.

The Blazers need to find a PF so Grant can be moved to SF. I think Ayton and Williams could play together, but Williams can't play that many minutes....
