Roy led the Trail Blazers to a 4-0 record, averaging 20.0 points, 6.0 assists and 5.3 rebounds. On Nov. 28, Roy recorded his first double-double of the season with 25 points and 10 assists in a 101-86 win over New Orleans. Roy has scored 10 or more points 17 times this season, including 12 games with 20 or more points, and leads the team in scoring (20.9 ppg), assists (5.3 ppg) and minutes (36.3).

Gratz to Brandon!

Well, that gives him a November award. That goes with his two WC Player of the Week awards in December last season, and his January, February, and March WC Rookie of the Month awards.

Come on, April! The best time to win an award.

Roy has really improved his perimeter shot. He was a 34% shooter from three last year, which was pretty marginal for a "shooting" guard. He's now at 38%, which vaults him into "holy crap don't give him any space!" mode.

The big flaw in his game right now is that he just doesn't seem to have much timing on the pick and roll. When he and Aldridge go to it, he almost never delivers the pass for the "roll". I don't really mind, since he often has a great look at the basket anyway and you want him to take it. But I'd like to see him develop that aspect a little more. I think a lot of that is just that McMillan runs a lot of post up offense, and so they haven't had a lot of opportunities to develop that chemistry.

Anyway, Roy is becoming a pretty amazing player. I don't see him as ever being in the "Kobe" echelon, but he seems to be well on his way to the Ray Allen/Paul Pierce/Vince Carter (in their primes) tier, which is fine by me.

On the other hand, maybe I should hold it against him that he's not one of the greatest of all time. Maybe he just doesn't care enough. ;)

Congrats to B-Roy! He's playing as well as anyone in the league right now.

He won ROY in April did he not?

This year...

MVP?

Kidding. :)

Seriously, I was just thinking yesterday that he does more with less. He doesn't have the physical gifts that a lot of other top players do, but he uses what he has to the utimate level.

I see him as being an ultimate team player. Unlike Bryant or James, he does not feel the need to be the #1 scoring option at all times. He will be the scorer when needed, or the passer, or the defender. I am quite happy with Roy as he is, and as he is improving.

Based on this, and based on the other proposed trades today, let's trade Roy for Harris?!?!?!?!

I'd rather him win an award in June!

Actually, he really is quite physically gifted. I know he came out with a great vertical and speed times in the pre-draft camps. And he's got about 20 pounds of muscle on guys like Rip Hamilton.

He just doesn't use his athleticism like most guys in his caliber. He plays like a more cerebral, less aggressive version of Wade.

If he wins it one more time he'll surpass Clyde Drexler for the most times having won this award as a Trail Blazer. They're both tied with three.

Hmm...yeah I think that might happen again. During the next month.

I agree. People say he isn't athletic and I don't think its true. He doesn't rely on his athleticism however, which is why some people may not see this. I saw a video of him doing some insane box jumps with big dumbbells. It's not like he's JJ Reddick or anything.

Of course he's atheletic and physically gifted, I just meant compared to like Lebron and Kobe he isn't phsyically as gifted.

Yeah, isn't that ironic that all of us couch potatoes and desk jockeys are wondering if Brandon Roy, a world class professional athlete that entering his prime, is athletically or physically gifted???
