Why the f would you bump this thread, with this title?

Seriously, not cool, especially before my morning coffee.

Not to be a fear monger, but is there really any doubt that this is what it's going to come down to at some point or another during the season?

Actually, it was kind of a relief. Now we have to wait to hear it.

Is there any doubt? Yeah. Is that doubt greater than the doubt that he'll get through the season without surgery? No ...

There's a larger problem here: Roy's problem may not be able to "fixed" through surgery. Rest may be the only remedy, and a temporary one at that.

If he simply has no cartilage left, then he has to get used to a new reality regarding what his knees feel like. Imagine if your car lost its shocks. You just have to learn to drive more gently and when you hit a pothole, you really feel it. That's what bone-on-bone is like in your knees.

Then, you try MF, or mesenchymal stem cell therapies in clinical trials.

I have never heard of a professional athlete taking part in a clinical trial, with the exception of maybe Magic Johnson. That could be because I have never heard of it, or because no team or agent would allow a player to take part in such a trial, even if it was determined to be safe.

Actually, MSC therapies specifically for cartilaginous repair are probably outside of the clinical trial stage now. I studied about 'em two years ago, and only one company was entering the market with it. AFAIK, the sucess rate is still below 15%, but it couldn't hurt, because there are generally no side effects if the area they want to regenerate is small. .

I took part in a clinical trial just this afternoon....... man do I feel good!

Having a quickie with a nurse is not considered a clinical trial.

Could someone equip the Blazer's locker room with a stem cell shower head?
