And he has the nerve to complain about playing time? If he can't contribute in Game 2, Nate should sit him for the rest of the series. Seriously, Rudy. Put up or shut up.

<positive thinking> If Rudy gets those same looks in Game Two, he'll hit 75% of them.

:ohno::ohno::ohno::ohno::ohno:

Blazers are already down one SG, sitting your backup wouldn't be smart.

Game 1

Rudy +7

Jerryd +2

I think you are overlooking his superior team defense in favor of someone who simply trades pts with his opponent.

Had Jerryd started in Rudy's place, we'd be 0-1 now.

Superior defense?

Are you referring to the play where he bailed out Richardson on the 3 or Richardson with 2 seconds left.

it's not smart to play a guy who can't shoot. Give all of Roy's minutes to Bayless and Webster. We don't need Rudy if he's gonna play like has the last two playoff games. If he starts again tomorrow, then Rudy, fucking show that you belong

OMG - are you serious? P.S. I am serious in asking.

Bayless played great off the bench, I think we have to keep him there because he is the only person who can spell Miller.

But if Rudy continues to shoot this poorly his minutes should and will get reduced. Remember how Batum played 15mpg as the starter last year? It'll be like that.

I don't care.

That will change.

With Rudy, it's not just about shooting. He does so many other things that helps a team win games.

I think tomorrow might be his last audition. If he is bricking everything (and by everything I mean wide open as in no one near him 3 pointers), he won't be seeing much time and shouldn't. He just doesn't seem to care to even contribute.

He's got to try to put pressure on the opponent and drive the basketball creating fouls against Phoenix, and hopefully getting to the line. He may be frustrated because when he tried to do that since he came back from his injury, he didn't get any calls at all from the refs despite constantly being fouled (and I'm not talking about when he flops). It's probable that the refs hate his Euro-flopping, and are giving him nothing. I think it's most likely that it's hard to differentiate when a 175-pound, 6-foot, 4-inch player is being fouled by a 250-pound 6-foot, 10-inch basketball player. The refs are probably assuming (and assuming incorrectly) that simple touches make Rudy look like he's being hammered when combined with the Euro-flop. So, as a result, Rudy's completely stopped his attempts at driving the ball.

And, in the playoffs, even less fouls are called on "touch" contact. It really has to be a hard foul to get called, usually. In the NBA, it's inconsistent, of course.

I expect Nate to speak one-on-one to Rudy about it, and to tell him to ignore the refs, and to go inside no matter what. He draws attention, and if anything, he creates open looks where he has the ability to dish out the assist.

I'm looking for 5 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, 10 points, and half a dozen hustle plays from Rudy tomorrow night. That will be an outstanding game from anyone, and from our "sub" for Roy, it is remarkable.

im starting to think that maris has a thing for spaniards no matter what they do..... so is calderon the best PG ever too? next to sergio that is of course....

Like what? The only thing I like about his game is quickness to loose balls and rebounds. No small feat but that's pretty much it.

That's what we deserve out of a guy who complains a lot.

:sigh::sigh::sigh::sigh:

You people amaze me sometimes.

Wow... if he's the only person who can spell M-I-L-L-E-R, imagine what would happen if they had to spell Wally Szczerbiak? :ohno:

:devilwink:

Did you watch Game 1? Did you watch game 6 against Houston? He did NOTHING. It is reason for concern.

So that means he automatically doesn't seem to care?

No, it just means he had a bad shooting night, nothing else. It's amazing you much you guys read into things at times.

Rudy cares and he worked hard in the game. His passes were even sharper than usual. He just doesn't shoot well, and it's been that way for a long time. He seems hurried. I don't think he's adjusted to NBA pace.

But he was GOOD last season (forgetting Game 6 of the playoffs). He shot 39.9% from the three point line and scored over 10 a game. Sophomore slump?

He himself has said that he wants out because he doesn't get enough playing time here. We are giving him time and he's not being aggressive offensively at all. His defense is whatever and he won't knock down a wide open shot even when given 3-4 shots at it! I would've knocked it down the second time. Most players in the D-League would've too. What the fuck is his problem out there? I'm not sure he cares as much as you think. He's put down our coach in the press more than once.

It's not even close between Rudy and Jerryd.

http://www.nba.com/blazers/stats/2009/index.html

Rudy (64 games, half of them played while injured) has trumped him all season in 3pt%, FT%, ORB, DRB, TRB, STL, BLK, TO(less), PF(less).

Jerryd has a slight edge only in FG%, AST, and PTS.

Jerryd has made way more FT pts, while Rudy has made way more 3PT pts.

Counting pre-season and regular season against the Suns Jerryd was 12-33 this year in 4 games, 76 minutes total.

Rudy was 0-2 in 2 games, 16 minutes total due to being injured.
