Supposedly Quick is reporting Rudy will sit out his final years and will forfeit his money if needed?

Spears is saying pretty much the same:

SpearsNBAYahoo said:
Blazers guard Rudy Fernandez wants to return to Europe to play and has no interest in NBA trade, his agent Andy Miller told Yahoo! Sports.
less than a minute ago via Twitter for BlackBerry®

Isn't there an agreement that NBA teams won't poach players under contract with foreign teams and vice versa? I mean, could Rubio have gotten away with telling Barcelona "Keep your money, I'm going to go play in the NBA"?

It is interesting that this isn't from the Spanish Media either. What a bitch!

You would think so. Also, howcome the NBA hasn't issued a fine to Rudy during this offseason?

Quick mentioned there were deals for Daequan Cook from the Heat or a Kirk Hinrich package from the Wiz that were turned down at the draft. More recently, the Cho turned down a Bobcats draft pick owned by the Bulls for Rudy.

I would have taken that last deal in a second.

I always figured that Rudy wouldn't be here long term, but I never thought it would end so badly.

If the Blazers end up getting nothing for Rudy then Cho has some explaining to do.

what a little bitch.... now we are basically going to get nothing for him im guessing? i bet boston and chicago would still like to have him tho....and its also nice to see that jason quick isnt stuck under a rock and actually came out with some decent news

yet when we got less than nothing for ZBO, people praised Pritchard. hell, at least ZBO would have reported to camp.

:dunno:

The Blazers got Frye and earlier cap space for arguably the worst contract in the NBA.

There's been deals presented to Cho and he has reportedly turned them down because he said he could find something better. Looks like he badly misjudged the market for Rudy Fernandez.

At least he is a young new guy like Morey!

I'm still less than thrilled with the Cho hire.

In before Imaginary Cap Space.

95.5 the game been talking about how Rudy's camp is saying the Blazers should release him other wise other foreign players won't want to play for the Blazers because how badly Rudy was handled. I don't want any more cry baby euros on this team! I would rather force Rudy to not play for any team for the next 2 years. A true player will look at this situation and see that Rudy didn't deserve a larger roll on the team and its was Rudy who was out of line.

actually taking on Steve Francis was much worse. Frye was horrible. The earlier cap space did not help whatsoever.

meanwhile, ZBO = NBA All-star.

meanwhile, ZBO = NBA All-star.

Since the ZBO trade - Teams ZBo played on reached the playoffs when he was there - 0%
Since the ZBO trade - Portland reached the playoffs when he was not there - 66.6666%

What this all proves is the Blazers is a dysfunctional, poorly run organization. Rudy is in the right here, he sees how badly our organization is run and it comes from the top.

Yeah, well...if we had a $18 million dollar expiring contract right now, it'd be pretty sweet.

The Blazers are just fine with Andre Miller and Przy's expiring contracts, and didn't have to put up with Randolph for the past 3 years.

Yet we get all whiny with Rudy now, even though ZBO actually wanted to play here.

I'm surprised. 20 posts in, and nobody has proclaimed that Rudy is a budding star, or that the problems are all fabrications by the Spanish media. Maybe people are starting to open their eyes to what sort of person/player Rudy really is.

Zach was the only one that wanted Zach to play here.

Rudy can whine all he wants. Doesn't mean Cho had to drop the ball and badly misjudge the market for him.

its not even a Cho thing. Its a dysfunction of the organization. they burn relationships with agents, fire GMs without explanation and players want to bail on us. all this fucked up shit in the Blazers organization isn't going to stop until Vulcan stops being weird and Larry Miller gets the step.

Again, blame it on Allen, not Cho

In regards to another thread where I made a statement about some of the Blazers issues, and was raked over the coals for.........
