Is conspiracy to commit fraud against the U.S. government a crime?

It's good when people get along. And what is conspiracy but people getting along with each other, really?

That's not the kind of getting along that I like.

I find it fascinating that all of you who have been saying the word collusion for almost 2 years are now saying "nobody ever said collusion"

I don't even know what to say about it except that you're all insane.

That's the power of Trump.

If Trump ends up guilty of anything it'll be obstruction, witness tampering, money laundering tax evasion or misuse of campaign funds. He has collusion fall guys all around him. I doubt he has a collusion paper trail under his own name if there is one....obstruction would be the charge I would expect....he's called investigators and witnesses liars, crooks, etc.....this is where his troubles truly lie....tampering with witnesses and harassing prosecutors of the investigation..he has absolutely crossed those lines.
You haven't been reading my posts then....obstruction is the target...pedaling influence would be collusion and Trump has fall guys for that problem...it's obstruction that Trump is probably guilty of. Hillary is probably guilty of that as well. You can't discredit judges, investigators or witnesses without crossing obstruction of justice lines and he has absolutely done that ...in the end, we'll follow the money trail and find out the sources of any collusion...a president should by all means support an investigation into foreign collusion wherever it rears it's ugly head...the fact that he discredits our national security force and takes Putin for his word is not helping his cause. I don't think you quite understand what insanity really is. Trump's job is to protect American democracy...not weaken it in order to protect himself or his friends.

You noticed!
They finally realized they need a crime.

Trump's job is to protect American democracy.

"I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." The presidential oath is the only one spelled out in the Constitution, and is the shortest.

He takes no oath to protect American democracy. We really do not even have a democracy.

...I don't believe that is accurate...what has been discussed is that Mueller and/or his team has not mentioned or implied that Trump is being investigated for "collusion"...that's a far cry from one of us saying it.

...kinda splitting hairs, aren't you?...shouldn't it be understood that the POTUS will look after the interests of the US and not brazenly side with our enemies?...does he really need to take an oath for that? But he does swear to "protect and defend the Constitution of the United States" which is the same thing as protecting our government...but I understand why you failed to highlight that.

...and if you'll read again, the poster you replied to said "protect American democracy"...I'm sure he is aware that we are actually a Republic, which is in fact a "democratic" form of government.

Actually, the highlighted part of your quote is not fact, nor is it true. A Republic can contain democratic principles within it's structure, but they are not required. The Republic stands above and apart. Furthermore, when reading the founding documents of our United States of America, you will find in neither the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution for the United States of America the word democracy... not one single time.

...uhhhh, Don't look now but "The highlighted part of your quote"...pretty much reaffirms what I said.

...I don't need lessons on what a "Republic" is, which is as I clearly stated is what our government is a "Republic"...("And to the Republic for which it stands...." )

... I did not say that "the US is a Democracy"...I said a Republic is a "democratic form" of government...and it is.

Recent post.

I don't have the time to quote them all but just for fun....search the word collusion in this forum. The results are hilarious.

Collusion is literally the basis for this thread.

It has been screamed about in this forum for 18 months.....

Meuller's mandate as written by Rosenstein......read it. The first sentence in section b is about links between Trump's campaign and Russia.

What do you think that means?

...sorry, but I have not been here for 2 years ...regardless, if you'll reread what I said and what I quoted and what I highlighted. ("read it"), maybe you'll realize that it had nothing to do with Mueller's case, but instead I was clearly referring to what YOU asserted about those same people "are now saying "nobody ever said collusion"....sound familiar?...do have examples of quotes from people in this thread actually saying that?...didn't think so.

...I can try to explain it for you but unfortunately I cannot understand it for you.

You're the one mentioning Mueller.

I told you how to find in Rosenstein's letter where it is mentioned without the word collusion. If you don't think the "links and coordination with the Trump campaign" are "collusion" I don't think you have figured out how to understand things for yourself let alone try to do it for me.

I don't know if you did not understand my post or you are being willfully obtuse. Let me try again and use Merriam-Webster to help:

Definition of republic
1 a (1) : a government having a chief of state who is not a monarch and who in modern times is usually a president
(2) : a political unit (such as a nation) having such a form of government
b (1) : a government in which supreme power resides in a body of citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by elected officers and representatives responsible to them and governing according to law
(2) : a political unit (such as a nation) having such a form of government
c : a usually specified republican government of a political unit

Once again neither democracy or democratic is used in the definition. Consider the Republic of Congo when it was established in 1970 as an openly Marxist–Leninist one-party state or if you'd rather - communist.

You said, "a Republic is a "democratic form" of government. "

The error in that statement is clear.

Think of 'Collusion' as slang for 'Conspiracy'.

..."Obtuse"?...seriously?...yeah, I understood your post and I filed it under "semantics".

...lol...nice tap dancing....but I'll ask again...do you have examples of anyone in this thread "now saying "nobody ever said collusion"?

...it's pretty simple, yes or no...if yes, please present them...if no, this convo is over.

I am having a great day, thank you very much. I am happy you figured out the Google thingy and sincerely wish you
an enjoyable time playing your game of semantical gymnastics.

Exactly lanny. The trump humpers seem to think because the word collusion isn't in the criminal description then he is innocent where as collusion is conspiracy which is in the criminal description.

It means he has conspired with Russia :biglaugh:
