Wow, it sounds like KP was probably asking for Nash, too.

PG: Nash
SG: Roy
SF: Batum
PF: Stoudemire
C: Oden

A pipe dream but a scary starting unit.

Btw, my buddy lives in Scottsdale and the deal they talked about on the radio down there wasn't LMA/Bayless/Raef it was actually (an insult?) Diogu/Raef/Bayless for Amare.

I dunno. A report that says Grant Hill is untouchable is pretty questionable, accuracy-wise.

Haha. I was sort of thinking this myself... but looking at how messed up the Suns and its decision-making is, Grant Hill just might be untouchable.

Diogu, Raef, Bayless? Is Steve Kerr on drugs? Maybe we can sucker him into taking Sergio instead of Jerryd.

I approve of this deal.

It was obvious from the start that Portland wasn't getting Amare. Kerr and company don't want to create a Roy/Amare/Oden trio. I'm sure the Suns have hopes of rebuilding into a championship within this decade. It'd be mighty hard to get past a team with both Roy/Amare and then Oden (if he pans out) to lock down the defense.

it's obvious that you say that because you hope the bulls can get him.

It can be said about the Bulls as well. Kerr didn't want to help a rival...

And I'm confident Kerr wont take on mediocre prospects like Tyrus, Noah, ect. Tyrus is playing solid as of late but he's still a 6'7"-6'8" tweener. Neither are starters on a good team, IMO.

The Suns want cap relief but they also want worthwhile prospects that can soften the blow of losing a player of Amare's caliber.

I think Kerr's having enough trouble making his own team better, let alone planning how to keep other teams manageable for when that Suns mess becomes a title contender.

In any case, Portland could work out a three-way in which Amare goes somewhere else and they get a point guard or small forward. In that case, of course, they wouldn't be dealing LMA.

Re: Portland/Phoenix trade talks dead

Why would I use 1 thread? They are different subjects. At least change the title of this thread to reflect that the trade is dead.

They are both about Blazer discussion with the Suns, don't see how they are different subjects...

The latest report is a logical extension of the currently active thread. It seems to fit best here, rather than splitting the conversation into two threads.

i still dont want to give up bayless. but i would in that deal. another deal would have to happen there is no way lamarcus starts coming off the bench.

The point is the conversation should end. You hiding the facts deep in this thread because you want Amare doesn't help this forum.

I'm sorry to inform you but this deal is officially dead. I've been censored from posting this on the front page, that's probably why you didn't know.

well it doesnt hurt my feelings much, im not big on getting amare. i'd much rather deal rudy than bayless anyway.

"Officially" dead? I'm glad you know KP, because regardless of whether or not that article is correct (and I hope it is), trades can resurface real quick....

1. A CBS Sportsline report doesn't make anything "official".
2. The link that you posted had already been posted in this thread, and ehizzy (as everyone else posting here) had access to it
3. Hypotheticals (such as whether giving up Bayless to get Amare) are entirely reasonable topics of conversation, irrespective of whether talks between the two teams (actually or just allegedly) are occurring.

In a fair world. This is a horribly unjust world, where topics continue even after they've been officially and legally been ended by CBS SportsLine.

You hiding the facts deep in this thread because you want Amare doesn't help this forum.

This is one of the most-followed threads. This is probably not where someone would attempt to hide anything.

Sorry to inform you but this deal is dead as reported by CBS, the same people who started the rumor. Just because you're an Amare fan doen't make that fact true. Try and hide it as much as you can so you can keep pumping up Amare.

that doesn't even make sense.
