Any yet... the Portland media spins this as doom and gloom... which they did after the very first game with Chip.

Calzano (loved the typo on ESPN) is staking his career on this nonsense. He won't have any access to the Blazers or the Ducks after the NCAA clears UO. He can have fun writing about the Holiday Bowl aspirations for the Beavs, or the Timbers, for the rest of his time in Portland.

He's done at the UO. That's what I'm hearing. The only thing about Chip that disappoints me is that he didn't cut off access to Calzano after the Blount incident, where Calzano was certain from his "sources" that bringing back Blount after a 10-game suspension was going to destroy the Ducks' locker room.

Are you kidding me?

Do you realize Lyles keeps changing his story??

What the hell don't you understand here? Players and families interviewed have said they were NOT influenced. They support Oregon. One person says one thing (story changed) and 20 say another... If this goes to court, how does that hold up?

It's what, 20 vs 1? And, that 1 not only has a questionable history and shady past employment, but has changed his story several times in the last few months.

You claim Oregon didn't receive recruiting information. That's a lie. Oregon receive a 140 player report which mostly involved 2009 players. First, this doesn't make Oregon guilty of ANYTHING. It says Lyles provides crappy services. Second, a large number of those players are at JC and potential recruits.

Dude, give it up. You're embarrassing yourself. You can't change the fact there is NO smoking gun and other schools paid Lyles thousands of dollars for the same service. It just happens Oregon has more money than your mac salad bought program has and is at an elite level which makes for a nice target..............

The Oregonian reports: Matt Hinton does a good job breaking down what this means to Duck fans. While the Ducks very well could have been taken for a ride, there's still no evidence of any NCAA violations.

Nola.com reports: Forking over thousands of dollars to owners of recruiting services isn't yet an NCAA violation. It's a loophole football coaches, and athletic departments, have found a way to use...

A recent poll showed 70% of sports fans think Lyles is a liar. The majority of these people ARE NOT Oregon fans. Congrats on being in the minority of sheepels.

I hope next time you purchase something, say software, a game, etc. and you find its a bit outdated, you aren't accused of unfounded violations.

There is so much wrong with this post I don't know where to start. I'll just mention a couple of things for now...

1) Oregon paid $25K for a "supposed" national recruiting package that was primarily Texas players and was from 2009. This happened although the invoice stated it was a 2011 recruiting package. This "supposed" package was put together after the $25K payment. It's obvious to anyone with a glimmer of intelligence what the Ducks were in fact paying for here.

2) Other schools paid $5-6K for recruiting packages from Lyles. Oregon paid 5 times that amount! That IS a smoking gun!

The invoice was for the 2011 recruiting *class* so of course it would say that. The 2010 date is clearly on the po and invoice, and both correctly state it was the 2011 package because like duh... you recruit for the next year.

As for the difference in cost with cal... have you seen then # of teams / states that Cal paid for? Do you know you are comparing apples to apples? Oregon paid for video from 20 states... how many did Cal pay for?

passing along the opinion on this of the main Oregon rivals reporter AJ Jacobson in an interview done yesterday, he said..."I would be very surprised if Chip Kelly did not keep his job. That would be very, very surprising to me."

The chatter/vibe I'm getting on this situation lately from insiders on forums and blogs is that the NCAA is pretty much done looking into the situation & didn't find much. A slap on the wrist of little consequence is supposed to be the most they're looking at. If so, rumor is an especially bad strain of bitter Beaver face will be common throughout the state of Oregon.

STOMP

And yet Forbes Magazine is now weighing in stating what I've already stated...

Oregon will eventually feel NCAA's wrath

Forbes Magazine's blog, authored by an associate professor at Webster University? You barkrats will dig up any negative article.

Meanwhile, Lyles is allegedly telling the NCAA that OS gave him under-the-table money for finding the Rodgers' brothers. I'm sure he's just not telling the truth on that one!

Have fun!

Really, how fucking dumb is this tlong post?

Link? Yeah, didn't think so...

Link? Yeah, didn't think so...

I don't need a link. I only need my sources. Lyles is squealing like a pig, and Oregon has been the only school upfront about it. OS is going to hear from the NCAA soon.

Nice Forbes blog, btw, MIXUM. That was really worth posting!

tlong hate on the Ducks all you want.

So long as they kick the snot out of the Beavs every year.

:)

keep the bitching on topic

HAHA, tlong! Thanks for the laugh this am. Your link, which you claim solidifies your position, :dunno: has less than 5,200 views in almost a week. It's also written by a self-described, "Creative Director and Executive Producer at Rosejam Records, where as a singer/songwriter we released 2 CDs in 2009 and 2010."

Apparently, he is one of 39 bloggers under SportsMoney, who have a combined 79 followers. Excellent authority on college athletics, much like Forbes! The simple fact you claim Forbes is backing your opinion speaks volumes. You don't even get how foolish you look, do you?

You continue to embarrass yourself...

I chatted with my friend who is tight in the UO football circle, last night. Rest assured, Chip is solid and we're expecting this mess to end soon with minor sanctions.

Even Bellotti thinks the Ducks are going to face sanctions. Who is embarrassing themselves???

“I have talked to Chip and I feel it’s more probably a bad business deal than a bad choice about how they do business."

I think Oregon is still honestly a program that does it the right way

I'll even look for the whole article where it mentions that Bellotti says "MINOR" if anything sanctions.

cant seem to find it at work, but I will!

Following along: MB says he believes in Chip, thinks Lyles is bad business - as was Oregon's dealing with him, says he doesn't know what went down but guesses there could be sanctions, then says he doesn't know.

Chip feels that he’s done nothing wrong and I believe him...

I don’t know what’s gone down with Will Lyles and all that.

I think Oregon is still honestly a program that does it the right way...

I think there will be some type of sanction, yes. I don’t know. It’s a new era. They’ll probably write a whole new page in the rulebook based on this.

agreed. I mean yeah if you are gonna take it as a serious attempt for music then yes its bad... but a fan video, having fun saying they love their team, not too shabby

the latest on Chip Kelly being forced to resign?

Sorry. Didn't realize you wanted me to start a new thread.

Could the NCAA just do the investigation and make a ruling? I'm tired of people like TLong beating on this day after day.

It's amusing though, sitting back and observing how the little twerp rolls with this. Let him glory in the discomfort of other. It's all he has to cling to.

Wow. That is unwatchable.

Ed O.

Oh, come on. It was a five day, fun in the sun, kids cutting up - project thrown together by a handful of recent grads. Fun and silly, grampa-grumps - not a serious production. Maybe Ed O. is threatened by funny kids cutting it up and cute girls. Hehe...

I say, good for them. Nearly 1.5 million hits and they have made some shillings on their t-shirts. Take it for what it is, Ed O. Not like it's a serious production of Another State or a lecture on how those who expect Oden to be a wasted pick are destined to be wrong. :)
