Is this the same guy who said that the Blazers injected GP2 with extra strength aspirin and when it came out that the story was 100% bullshit said nothing to own up on his passing off of a lie?
 
All Shams has to say is some bullshit like "maybe Dame has played his last game as a Blazer" and then every other wannabe insider repeats it like it was actually a rumor.

This isn't a story. Shams tweets some bullshit that he doesn't even source and is just his musings about our team and Dame's future... that's his right but it's kind of problematic because most of his tweets are breaking actual news. That being said for some website to use his tweet that is obviously conjecture as a source for their "story" makes it a nonstory.

The rub is that he has made good contacts in the past. He has been doing it for a number of years with different organizations. He may be just be taking a filer or thru his travels someone tweeted in his ear with knowledge.

Shams does have a ton of cred and that's why he shouldn't be tweeting out bullshit like this. Almost all of his tweets are news that he is reporting from sources but this tweet is very obviously just him wondering on his twitter if this situation is about to become untenable between Dame and the Blazers... it's fair speculation and I think it is possible that Joe doesn't get anything done on draft day, drafts two rookies that him and Schmitz like and Dame asks out but I still think it's more likely that Joe gets a trade or trades done that make this team immediately much more competitive.

So I'm cool with Shams having these thoughts but when you make your name by breaking news it's pretty fucking shitty to tweet out conjecture.

I just looked and Shams took the tweet down that said that Dame may have played his last game with us and replaced it with this:



Scour his twitter, the bullshit he posted is no longer there.
 
You know its not impossible that someone in the blazer organization leaked it to him. It could have been leaked just to see what kind of action other teams in the league might bite on before the draft.

He would have said sources and he would not have taken it down. He did not mention sources, which he always does when he has them... so nah, I don't think it could have been a leak.

Yeah, because the Blazers have no other way of informing teams that they'd be open to trading Dame. Come on.

What do you think of the previous years reports that Dame might get traded in the upcoming season? Were those legit also?

it also quite possible that it came from the Warriors. After all, someone in the Bay Area fed Shams the bullshit that the Blazers forced Payton to get toradol injections in his abdomen.

as far as the Blazers leaking this, sorry IT, you're trying to find a mountain where there isn't even a molehill. Shams obviously speculating about Dame isn't going to generate any action at all from any NBA front office.

Honestly people don't have to but if they want they can scroll through Shams' twitter and see how many times he tweets without a source or sources... it's pretty much never. This was out of character and I believe that's why it is no longer up there and instead he has the sourced report about the team shutting Dame down for the rest of the season, with no remarks about what that might mean for his future here.
