Lets just hope they aren't good enough to make the playoffs, but just good enough to make the chances almost impossible.

Screw that.

I want a Top 10 pick.

Nets are a bad team (currently 6th worse record). If they stay 6th, odds are higher that their pick will be 7th, than they win and vault into Top 3.

So, we have a good shot at a Top 10 pick in this draft - which is fucking awesome.

Just remember that we won the draft lotto being the 6th worst team.

Would love to know what pick LAL gave up for Sessons. How can we not make those kinds of moves? A PG for the future for what's sure to be a late-first round pick or 2nd rounder?

Cleveland will get the Lakers 2012 first-round pick

I think plenty of true fans (sorry HCP) are a-ok with a tank job in this ridiculous * season.

Something to look forward to!!

Starting to look a lot like the 2006 draft lead-up, just v2.0 this time. Hopefully they can make another splash with a competent GM in place. I feel the Blazers absolutely robbed NJ in this trade. Good going Blazers Management!

I can't be too critical of the Blazers performance, nor the outcomes of the pickups last off-season. Unless they knew Roy was going to retire/amnesty, I'm of the opinion that they thought they still had the proper pieces to make a decent run this year. After the unexpected news by Roy and the horrible play of Felton I'm hoping this will be about a 3 year rebuilding process. Perhaps the Blazers will get a star player that will lead Aldridge as a second option. They'd really have something cooking then. Unfortunately the Blazers will be rebuilding while Aldridge should be hitting his prime, but I expect with his type of play he should be pretty durable, i.e. peak performance will be maintained until his early-mid 30's. That gives them a few years of getting this team headed back to the top.

I also think they should just let Felton continue to play- he's the ultimate secret weapon if they are trying to "tank."

wow, lakers sent walton to Cleveland, with their first for Sessions and eyenga

Good move

Day won't be complete without Camby and Felton leaving my sight

Good point. Keep him and have him play 48 mins a game.

And plus, we're probably not going to get Blake now. Yes.

Woj, Blazers O-Live Blog, D. Aldridge and pretty much every other source.
Yes, they're all reporting on the deal, but no one has said it's been finalized, that I know of. So far, it's "reports say . . . "

mgmt today took a big 1st step in getting out of the doghouse with this trade if it is as reported. they still have a ways to go but at least this is a very good and BIG first step

Right. And even that scenario is a longshot. The bottom line is that we will probably have two picks somewhere in the top 14.

Right.

Something along the lines of

7th pick
12th pick

in a poor draft, that is Meh.

in a deep draft, that is pretty damn fine.

2008 draft:
#5 - Kevin Love
#6 - Gallanari
#7 - Eric Gordon
#10 - Brook Lopez
#17 and after - Hibbert, Ibaka, Batum

2006 draft (not even considered deep)
#6 - Brandon Roy
#8 - Rudy Gay

2004 draft
#7 - Luol Deng
#9 - Andre Igudala
#11 - Biedrens
#14 - Humphries
#15 - Al Jefferson
#17 - Josh Smith
#18 - JR Smith
#20 - Jameer Nelson

2003 draft
#5 - Dwane Wade
#6 - Kaman
#7 - Hinrich
#12 - Nick Collison
#18 - David West

2002 draft
#7 - Nene
#9 - Amare
#10 - Caron Butler

You get the idea.

The team still has to draft well and have some luck go their way.

One clarification to some earlier posts; we traded a 2011 and 2013 first round pick to Charlotte in the Wallace trade.

That's where I draw the line. Let him rot at the end of the bench and eat his own bumbling, cancerous self.

Let Erick Barkley V.2 play til the cows come home. Feature Batum and let LaMarcus start thinking about BBQ's back home in the Texas heat.

I want Felton to the Lakers for their 2nd rounder and TPE. That's how badly I want Felton gone.

It most likely says just agreed to in principle, and not official because we can not carry 16 players. So it's likely "done", but we need to make another trade or cut someone..

GREAT WHITE HYPE! Maybe even another team saw his career numbers in the last 3 games and say "Hey maybe this kid isn't as bad as we thought" and we get some value in return for him. Every team needs the quota amount of white people on their team.

Lakers get better, Portland gets worse. What else is new.

Only a fanbase as beaten down as Portlands could actually be exciting about rebuilding, yet again.

Hey just FYI guys, Portland can now trade their first rounder in a deal since they received NJ's.

Crawford gone to Minne! Not!

Sorry between working and on this board - hit the send too soon. I still think Crawford ends up in Minne.
